How could Foreman beat people like Larry Holmes and how would he fair in the modern era?

Jimmy Young is levels above Wilder in skill. You cannot make this up. It's no comparison

I think Foreman’s pretty overrated. He’d lose to Holmes for sure. His style worked really well against less skilled smaller guys and pressure fighters, but if someone chose to jab and move, they’d have a solid chance at beating him.

    Did I call Wilder sophisticated?

    Engaged and got dropped.
    How do you know that?
The physical disparity is enormous. Before you bring up Wilder's weight, his upper body is massive.

This isn't hard to understand-- Wilder is cruder than Foreman, and has less proven chin and power. In fact, there is no way he hits as hard.

Yes, but your grammar is garbage.

The proof is what I have already posted- its their fights. foreman is far more proven.

If you want to suck Wilder's dick, go ahead. Everyone else knows that he is crap. Good day to you.

I think foreman is going to have problems with the top level guys who box at distance and have a better reach. Ali, Jimmy young, I think Larry holmes could decision him. Gotta have a great chin too. It's a style thing.

But anybody swarmy, who doesn't fight on the back foot, is in real trouble. Frazier, cooney, cooper, Norton.

So of the current bunch I think fury possibly usyk could beat foreman.

It was mainly a question for the comments to decide, I was just naming modern heavyweights. Wilder may be sloppy and have horrendous technique for a “champion” bur Foreman wasn’t that much better when it came to technique, I could see it being a good fight, almost a Foreman-Lyle type of fight. As for the Whyte question I was looking for more opinions on it, again, I was just naming some of the modern heavyweights

By knocking him out? I would pick Larry over George 8 times out of ten though. As for the modern era, he would be one of the best but let's not pretend George was unbeatable or anything. He had more weaknesses than most atg heavyweights imo.

Foreman was crude of technique but a highly advanced tactician. He knew how to control the ring extremely well while Wilder is utterly clueless. Yes, it's possible with his speed he could catch Foreman, but it's far more likely he gets beaten back by the jab and clubbed into a heap.

Foreman often blocked punches with his head? Maybe the 90s version. The 70s version was very cagey in defence and tended to slip and parry shots pretty well.

How would he fair in this era......Prime Foreman would be charged with Murder against this ordinary lot....Remember the Fat unfit Mexican was a World Champion not that long ago could you imagine what a 40 year old Foreman let alone a prime Foreman would do to Ruiz.!!!!

Watch the videos MarkusFlorez posted if you think Foreman wasn't much more technically advanced than Wilder. His power punches were often wild swings that looked amateurish at a surface level, but they were set up with all manner of techniques that Wilder wouldn't even begin to understand: one- and two-handed pushes to the shoulders of his opponents to offset them, using his open gloves to pull fighters into shots, punching through defences with his jab, then coming round the side with hooks, turning fighters off balance then clubbing them on the counter. All of this stuff is perfectly visible on that Frazier vid above and it's something Foreman did all the time.

Wilder is a completely open book in comparison. What's the most advanced technique he uses to set up his right hand? A bit of blindsiding with his outstretched left glove? That's nothing. Level one stuff.

Look at Usyk if you want an example of a modern heavyweight who could beat Foreman.
