Correct as Amatuers. Kostya was amazing. His boxing skills and speed back then were exceptional. He boxred circles around a young Vernon Forrest.

it was the speed of punch that made the difference.

    tszyu was accurate.

but not as quick and hatton saw em coming.

tszyu was 35 by the way. :yep

Exactly! He was able to smother and maul Zoo because Zoo didn't have the footwork to get away and get his punches off for maximum effect.

well anyone that has boxed, knows that when u box someone that mauls u like Hatton does, it really kills your legs.
zoo had been out of boxing for more then year with a ankle enjury, I doubt he was able strenthen his leg back to what they were before 2 year lay off and the enjury. So Hatton style totally drained zoo's legs, and as we all know, no legs,no power.
After 3 or 4 rounds of Hatton's mualing style zoo had nothing left, and ricky had nothing to fear.

Floyd has power but its not power that put Ricky away. The timing and accuracy of that shot was magic. Plus Ricky was way out of his position with his chin in the air and he'd been slightly broken down by the 10th.

You're forgetting that Floyd didn't use a regular punch, it was a super move (The Check Hook). Check Hook's take away like 5x as many Hit Points as regular punches.

What extra 7 lbs? To ME, on fight night he looked about the same as he did at junior welterweight. I don't know what he weighed of course, but he lookekd about the same.

-edit- Sorry meant to say it WAS a super move. Though personally I think Hatton could have avoided it if he had countered with Johnny Cage's sliding balls punch.

A friend of mine said it is because Tszyu doesnt punch well on the backfoot , Hatton was pushing him back . I think this is right , dont wanna take credit for my m8s insight though

About the turnbuckle thing though, I'll just say it so we can get it out of the way.

Floyd did not win the fight with Hatton. Hatton did! Rickay was robbed!! The turnbuckle cheated! The turnbucle used its magic anti-Rickay rays all night to tire Rickay and make him more susceptible to Mayweather's pitty pat punches!

If they had useds FAIR turnbuckle instead of those biased ones from Vegas, I'm sure Mayweather would have been knocked out in the first round, because Rickay is the greatest boxer from Britain ever.

he was able to absorb KT's punches by closing the distance between himself and Tszyu and making sure that KT didn't get full extension on his punches.

Power is more about the delivery of the shot, and the fact was Hatton was pushing Kostya back, and so Kostya wasnt getting his bodyweight into his punches.
Kostya never landed more than 1 or 2 at a time either.

Hatton couldnt see Mayweathers shots, as the hook was coming round the side, and he was switching between body and head brilliantly, and when he went to town on Hatton, landed in bunches, and Hatton couldnt defend himself.
