It's a strange one how many are pointing out Joshua's performance against Takam as a potential reason for Parker success..... Joshua outboxed and dominated Takam for 10 rounds....Parker scraped a decision. I see many similarities between Takam and Parker......easy night for AJ.
I ultimately agree in the fact I am somewhat surprised that some think this fight proves that AJ is VERY beatable by Parker, though on the flipside you overstate how easy Takam was for Joshua. Make no mistake, Joshua was never biding his time - it wasn't a walk in the park by any stretch and Takam wouldn't have had to be a lot better to make it a WAY more competitive fight. It was a decisive win for sure, but it wasn't the message that AJ and his fans were expecting to send to Parker who has learned and developed a fair bit since this fight. There were a lot of close rounds and Takam took one of them officially - while being a present danger the whole way. Parker is faster, more powerful and closer in height to Joshua than Takam... of course there are some things that Takam does better than Parker as well but movement is not one of them, which is one of the things which could arguably be one of the things which trip AJ. Parker of nearing 2 years ago beat Takam, the Parker of now is likely to be a step up and while it would be foolish to expect Parker to win this fight - it would be at least as foolish to expect it to be an easy one for AJ.
I couldn't disagree with you more. Joshua spent his whole camp preparing for Pulev. If at 2 weeks notice he can completely outclass a guy like Takam.....imagine what he does to Parker with a full camp behind him.
Tricky thing here is, 1) That would be more convincing if he had actually completely outclassed Takam 2) If at 2 weeks notice Takam can give Joshua his second hardest fight of his career and Joshua is the A-side, what would Takam have done with full prep for Joshua? 3) He had a full camp. Just not specifically for Takam. Anyway, like always - Parker will fight <insert name here>, if Parker wins then people will complain their favourite guy was robbed, if Parker loses but when AJ has to go through dark places to do so then people will just say Joshua had a bad day. Parker was supposedly going to be way outclassed AGES ago, Fury was meant to make him look stupid. We've been here before.
Like I said, if there is any heavyweight that can cause an upset victory against Joshua or Wilder, it'll be Joseph Parker.
This will be how the fight will unfold Parker, will muck around a bit, jabbing and brawling and take some punishment The difference is he can take it and come round 8, Joshua will gass Thereafter a straight right will shatter that glass chin Joshua does not have the style to beat Parker
Fight edging closer- https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/other...-try-to-get-unification-fight-across-the-line
Fancy Parker to cause the upset. The guy that beats Joshua doesn' need to be great. Just needs the right tools. Some of the requirements are be able to take a bit of a shellacking. Parker looks like he ticks that box. Have good stamina...again parkers done 12 a few times. Be able to punch...parker can punch...hasn,t looked so heavy handed recently but you don't need to be George Foreman to knock Joshua out.
