How could people POSSIBLY think that Martinez wasn't fighting hurt?

Did you guys see the Pavlik fight, look how much movement he has, he's using his footwork to confuse and attack Kelly, using his knees to move and duck and slip.

Against Cotto- it was OBVIOUS his knee put him at a huge disadvantage, and was damaged goods. The Martinez came into the fight knowing this.

How can anyone give Cotto credit for being Martinez? Crazy PR fans.... Yes he won the belt, but he beat an injured fighter.... it was a straight up PPV robbery.

Mostly Cotto fans. Like most fans, I just wanted a good fight but that requires both fighters to be healthy. That wasn't the case. I feel like I got cheated out of my money. Shame on Sergio for duping the public. He was in no shape to fight.

The 1st rd he looked like a drunk without Evan taking anything heavy shots, no way was he 100% but if that was the case that's on him and his team not to go ahead with the fight! there's no way they wouldn't have known how shot his knee was before that fight and cotto was in the right place you can't blame him, Martinez probably thought he'd take a risk against a much smaller guy but it backfired badly

Martinez spent the past 5 years fighting bigger and much slower guys. Of course he would look like grease lighting compared to those guys. This time the shoe was on the other foot. He was the bigger, slower fighter and Cotto was the fast, powerful technician.

I rewatched the replay and thought Martinez looked like **** even warming up.

No athleticism, just a flat footed spud.

Cotto could only fight the man that faced him in the ring. It's not his fault that Martinez was shot. Cotto is now the lineal middleweight champ and deserves credit for winning that title.

The reason Martinez couldn't move as well was because we was knocked down three times in the first round.

THIS. Martinez looked like himself until he got clipped in the first. Bloody eardrum, equilibrium fcked. Cotto was simply on another level. The Sergio that was KO'd by Margarito does not last 5 rounds with Cotto so let's stop hyping Sergio up. He was good, but Cotto is a TRUE world class boxer. BIG difference. Stick to soccer or beating up on Chavez's chubby lazy son, Sergio.

Did you watch him jumping up and down during ref instructions with NO problems in the knees? Did you watch him dance around like Ali prior to being snatched by that vicious left hook?

Listen man, ANY version of Sergio simply cannot hang with Cotto. Serg was hyped up over the years. A haymaker on Williams does not make you great. Nor does beating a Chavez Jr. who trained for 5 days. Let it go. Sergio got exposed for the chinny fighter that he has always been.

He couldn't get leverage on any of his punches. He ate bombs in the 1st because dude couldn't get out the way. And we got these posters coming on here saying it was the normal Martinez. What kinda crack is they trying to prove with this? Ain't no way Martinez legs weren't shaky, man it's an insult to boxing to try to play it off like he wasn't injured.

Martinez's footwork vs Cotto made Ali's performance vs Larry Holmes look like prime Ali…

It's baffling isn't it? To question whether Sergio's knees were terribly screwed up or not? I mean the guy was moving around favoring his knee, just trying not to injure it further. You could see he couldn't put much pressure on it and had trouble just staying balanced at times. Unreal. Most legit 154 and 160 lb fighters beat and probably dominate the one legged Sergio we saw against Cotto. And we got Cotto fans going crazy, like he actually beat a healthy Sergio or something.

Even Floyd or Pac with only one leg beats no one. That is like the most crippling thing that can happen to a fighter. To lose the mobility of one leg and not being able to plant and explode off of it. Are you serious? You are basically a dead man in the ring. A sitting duck. Can't initiate offense or back away for defense.

Finally, more people seeing the truth. His mobility is gone.
