How could two-division world champion Lopez lose to George Kambosos Jr?

George Kambosos Jr is actually a Hasim Rahman of current LW division. Never ever close to be a top guy. Never a top-5 guy. Mediocre skills, mediocre speed and power.

Teofimo Lopez on another hand is very gifted boxer who scored two truly world class wins.

Loma is so much better than Kambosos that I have no doubt he'd win every round if the two ever met.

Taylor is not nearly as skilled as Loma but he's tall and hard-hitting, he'd whoop Kambosos with ease.

Was it an off-night for Teofimo Lopez? Or Kambosos overperformed and will never be able to repeat something like that? Or both?

Styles make fights. Kambosos does much better against more agressive fighters such as Zepeda. He always struggles with slicksters. I felt Lee Selby beat him too.

Difference between Rahman and Kambosos is Kambosos didn’t win the belts with a one punch KO

Teo is just a complete enigma. I don’t buy into the styles make fights for Teo v Lambosos, I think he just completely overlooked him and the Aussie took his chance

A couple years ago Kambosos was primed and ready for war. I could feel his momentum starting with the Selby fight he was locked in with tunnel vision. After the Haney fights and the huge pay days I think that the dog was beaten out of him. I also think that Hughes was a very bad choice of opponent for a comeback fight they should've picked a more stationary target if they wanted him to look good.

Teo fought a stupid fight, full of emotion. Not setting up anything, just loading up on shots and letting them fly. Kam is too fast to get caught with lead power shots. By the time Teo settled down it was too late to make up for the lost rounds..

I believe Teo's story about having a severe medical issue during the fight. Everything Kambozo has done since then lends credence to Teo's excuse; dude sucks at the championship level.

Kam got into his head which is why he fought a dumb fight, in my opinion. Kam beat him mentally before they ever stepped in the ring and Teo fought off emotions. I think Teo beats him convincingly in a rematch.

Kambosos’ style is geared for aggressive opponents. Teo was tailor made for him plus he overlooked him. George earned those belts where others failed.

Excellent point. Kam most definitely won the mental aspect of the fight.

It genuinely was an off-night for Teofimo that night (even if people don’t want to give him the benefit of the doubt because they dislike Teo). Kambosos got lucky that he was facing the worst, injured, version of Teofimo.

There’s an argument to be made for Kambosos being p4p the worst unified champion of all time. He has shown absolutely nothing outside of the Teo fight to suggest he’s even a worthy contender, let alone world-level or elite.

He beat a couple of contenders before Teo.

Style and it was bad moment for Lopez, mentally he was not ready after that Loma fight and not giving him the rematch.

Karma is one hell of the thing.

I still don't understand why US fighters are talking about retirement, when they are not even in their prime.

Promotional tactic. Not being there creates a demand.

Can’t say. Never done any research on it.
