He definitely had his eye set on Lopez.Put all he had going on with the family on hold.Dedicated his life obsessing about beating lopez. He didn’t really have the drive against the Ukian Hughes. Everytime you have that mindset its gonna be a stinkfest. It’s showed the difference in hunger.

Did you not watch the fight? Lopez bum rushed Kam in the first round trying to knock him out, got caught and lost his confidence for the remainder of the fight.

All respect to Kambosos. But Teo would whoop him in a rematch

It was a bad night for Lopez, no excuses. But we all know Lopez would beat him in a rematch.

Teofimo fought a really dumb fight and Kambosos had the night of his life.

Teofimo predicted a KO1 and came out of the gate like a lunatic trying to live up to his prediction and he subsequently walked into a shot which dropped him and the embarrassment of that only made him more overeager and it took him forever to calm down and start thinking about what he was doing.

This is why you don't base things on one fight - because a much more talented and higher ranked champion's worst night can coincide with their opponent's best night and obviously there are other factors that can influence things like injuries etc.

That being said, many feel Teofimo was taken to Spanish Slick school by Sandor Martin so he should actually have two losses on his ledger, both in his backyard against opponents he was bigger than or about the same size as.

Because Teo is an up and down fighter. He fights to the level of the opponent, and those type of fighters can really look pedestrian sometimes, then come out of nowhere and look like ATGs. He's already shown he does this multiple times

Fought like an idiot against a Spartan warrior.

Showed what he could do when he used his 8 brain cells against a tartan warrior.

Because he went in with the intent to end it early and gave Kambosos 0 respect (which ended badly due to the counters)

Pretty much it. Happens in boxing

So this thread was designed just to trash a guy who has only ever given 100% when he has entered the ring?

Now, even as an Aussie I don't love Kambosos but I certainly respect his place in the sport. And to say that he was never top 5 in the division is both blatantly wrong and extremely disrespectful.

Lopez cannot make any excuses for losing that fight. Nor can his fans. Whether he would win a rematch, well that is far from certain as Kambosos obviously has a style that matches well in that contest.

Kambosos unified the division fair and square, on Teo's home soil. He's earned his spot.

Teo losing to Kambosos I think due to two factors. One Teo fought like an idiot early on just going in thinking he could blast Kambosos out early and secondly styes. Teo is best when he has an opponent that comes to him, like Loma and Taylor, he then does what he does best, sit back and counter. But Kambosos is an out boxer and when Teo came out blasting that suited Kambosos he got an early lead and from then on Teo was playing catch up and forced the fight which again suited Kambosos.

We saw the same things happen vs Sandor Martin, Teo again made to lead and again looked worse for it. But when he fought Taylor he again had an opponent that allowed him to sit back and counter instead of chasing and he looked amazing again. It's clear Teo has a stylistic weakness, the two fights with Kambosos and Martin and the two fights with Loma and Taylor are a clear indication of this. When he's allowed to fight his fight he's amazing when forced to lead, he can be beaten.
