I dislike the way he talks about himself in the third person and his whinging to Buncey about his cold feet or whatever. I thought he was a tough guy. You just don't expect boxers to be up-there-own-arse, prima-donnas. Otherwise I think he's great.
hops is ****ing boring in the ring usaully, but his out of the ring antics are usaully top notch. i still laugh when i think about the time he threw the flag down and was chased out of the building after confronting Trinidad.
Few fighters I respect as much as Hopkins... only him and Cotto are the two who's stock can rise even between fights... All Hopkins had to do is whooping Johnson's and Tarver's a** bad and let them fight the Dawsons and Woods (and Jones) ...And who looked the best last Saturday? Yep... But I just love Calzaghe's jazzy style, fantastic, unpredictable, always creating excitement so as much as I like Hopkins I might root for Joe...
racist or not some of the things he says and does push the limit for me , and its not just his stupid " white boy " comment that made me feel that way , i look at how he acted vs tito , its pretty disrespectful to go to someone elses country grab their flag and throw it on the ground , imagine if ricky hatton , joe calzaghe came here grabbed the u.s flag and threw it on the ground , to me it's just super disrespectful not just to the fighter from that country but to those ppl there as well .
He will be remembered, no doubt about it. If he wins then I'm pretty sure he's going to clarify that he regretted his statement and wanted to take it back (you can imagine why he can't do that before the fight, or why he would look stupid doing it after).
