There's kind of a two pronged answer to this question. By all rights, to a logical boxing fanbase, it shouldn't do any damage whatsoever. Usyk is a generational talent, THE ATG Cruiserweight, an Olympic Gold Medalist and by all rights, in the P4P number fighter in the world. Losing to him, even for a big guy like Fury, is nothing to be ashamed of. Simply a case of the better man winning. But since most boxing fans are illogical, unreasonable, hyper emotional and irrational, and caught up in an endless loop of reprisal seeking and one-upmanship, they rarely take the time to sit back and reflect, fully processing what occurred. So to the unhinged internet fanboys, it will do a great deal of damage. To sensible boxing fans, it won't be a big deal.

Fury is a great fighter, he'll be remembered as a great fighter that could have been an ATG if he had just had the right mindset.

Fury will still be seen as the best guy after Usyk, whether that's actually true or not. It would also hype up Fury-AJ enormously, at least in this country

Usyk meanwhile will rise to Roy Jones levels of respect. I also expect he would retire, though it would make me laugh if he offered Wilder a fight

Damage-wise, Fury's stock will definitely take a dent as being undefeated and all of the bluster that comes with it is a big part of his appeal and helps make up for his somewhat thin resume. He also seems to have dropped this mental elf/people's champ/lineal champ stuff nowadays, so he can't fall back on that either. It would basically be two AJ fights or bust at that point

I don't think Fury would lose, unless Usyk has another heavyweight gear we haven't seen, and would do just enough to win a 116-112 type decision. Not that the fight will ever happen, because I seriously doubt it will - the Fury camp are stalling until a good enough excuse presents itself for them to delude the public

I think it might alter peoples opinions that Fury dominates every smaller Heavyweight from past generations. As hes yet to beat an elite smaller fighter with boxing skills.

I also think Fury needs this win as his resume is very thin atm, and IMO it would hurt his legacy. It would be like Bowe losing 2-1 to Holyfield, imagine how Bowe's career would look had he lost the trilogy Holyfield overall ?

Wilder was small. A skinny basketball player physique.

But he doesn't have the boxing skills of like say Holyfield, Tyson, Louis, Holmes, etc. So I think seeing how Fury deals with a 6'3 skilled Heavyweight, should tell us somewhat how Fury would deal with other smaller skillful Heavyweights of the past.

Who can't they beat? Usyk can beat any cruiserweight in history and Fury can beat any heavyweight in history.

Rocky Marciano weighed 188, I'd take him to grind Usyk up over 15 rounds as I'd favor Holyfield also . Who'd beat Fury?
    Ali
    Foreman
    Lewis
    Liston'
    Louis.
    Frazier
    Tyson
    Holmes
    ,,,probably Dempsey
    etc., etc.
    Gotta go too much typing

Frazier, Louis & Dempsey are way too small. You're living on a prayer.

Depends on the manner of the defeat, could be minor or major. The fight is something like a 67-33 oddswise, Usyk's not regarded as a 25-1 "tomato can" like Rahman, Douglas or Ruiz. Usyk's never been beaten himself and is a unique fighter, the GOAT cruiser, the GOAT southpaw heavyweight. There's no good evidence that past heavies could beat Usyk, seeing as they fought no elite southpaws, ducked southpaws and struggled badly with southpaws when they fought them. Yet this forum will delusionally claim that Holmes would beat Uysk, when he had ZERO southpaw experience as a pro and got KO'd multiple times by a cruiser-size future journeyman southpaw in the amateurs.

Not much damage at all. If Fury loses to Usyk, I'd imagine there would be an immediate rematch and Fury would be motivated like he has never been before. He would probably be looking to seek and destroy in rematch.
