Ruddock was a 6'4 230ish-240ish pound puncher with great power. Foreman wasn't exactly a defensive wizard. I look at Foreman's fight with Lyle and Ruddock's fights with Tyson and personally think that Ruddock would be a hazardous opponent for Foreman, because Foreman would get hit flush in this fight at some point. I'm not saying Foreman loses, but he would need to be careful and I think it would be a challenging fight for him.
If Ruddock fought defensively I could see him making it to the 7th or 8th round before being stopped, but if he try's to match power with Foreman he'd get stopped early.
I think it will be a good match up. The size is comparable and I think Ruddock held advantage in speed, but I thought Foreman trumps him in skill, power, chin and battle hardness. I can't see Ruddock last 12 rounds.
Foreman has little trouble with Ruddock. Ruddock is hyped to death on here by revisionist fans. His resume is weak and he lost everytime he stepped up, old Foreman stops him in 8..."prime" Foreman stops him in 4.
I thought this said a 7 foot foreman for a second. Foreman by mid round ko, still Razor was pretty good.
George liked to push and paw with both hands, got away with it because he was much bigger than most of his opponents. Very very dangerous habit against ruddock. Similar power, ruddock had better speed and stamina. George had a better chin, a better corner and was more of a two handed threat. If george had better stamina he woukd be a very heavy favorite to eventually make ruddock pay for his terrible boxing IQ. But given that george tired and ruddock could move and stay away when he wanted it could be dangerous for george after round 6. I actually like old georges chances better because of the stamina and more straight punches.
