Do you compete? Do you stick to strict diet? Do you get up on cold wet mornings and do your roadwork when its easier to stay in bed with ur missus in a warm bed?
i'd say my commitment is deep......if i have a fight lined up then the 4-6 weeks before it is strict diet..no booze, lots of good healthy foods....runs rain or shine and i'll arrange my weeks programme around if the missus is staying over...cos all work and no play also in the build up to my fights i'll take days off just to keep fresh and motivated
Im running a marathon and i run 4-6 races a year and i always 6-8 weeks before go strict and become a monk.
I no longer compete, but my commitment is stronger than it ever was, and tomorrow, it will be stronger still. I always was, and still am committed to me, boxing was simply a hobby. My diet is planned, and stuck to religiously. Training is never missed under any circumstances. I live for the days where I hit road during a monsoon. I relish the challenge of beating yesterdays performance every time I step foot in the gym. I actually lost a girlfriend over my training a few years back. She was always complaining that I spent too much time training and not enough time with her. My opinion was that if she wanted to spend more time with me, she could join me at the gym - she didn't like that suggestion!
I work out daily and my diet is extremely strict, but I don't get up at 6 to do roadwork. I'm an insomniac so I take all the sleep I can get.
I like to think my commitment is deep. I run 5-6 days a week no matter what the weather, and everytime I train, I work through pain and push myself. My diet I dont think is as strict as most others because I will have about 2 cheat days a week, and drik gatorade g2 regularly(unless a fight is coming up, 3-4 weeks leading to a fight if I have that much notice, I do not have any cheat days for diet).. But I will have a couple granola bars if I want. On the running, where I live, id rather run in rain or snow than on a hot day... 100 degrees on this mountain makes you have to push yourself just to get decent roadwork in.
I'm 100% dedicated to my diet, no processed foods, all fruit, veg, meats, fish oats and cheese, never consume drinks with energy in them. Also since ive started training iv'e only missed one session, and that was for my bday party, so i'd say im fair dedicated.
Some people see it as more empty calories...But I guess not cause the g2 **** I drink has vitamins and what not actually....not sure if normal gatorade does as I havent drank it in so long.
I'm pretty commited i'd say, I train 5 or 6 days a week, sometimes twice a day if running in morning. I've recently just given up drinking as should be fighting in the new season so that's until further notice, could be 2-3 months or who knows. I run all year round, I love to run, just about to start up at my health club again and run in mornings instead of evenings so that I can go to that gym when not in the boxing gym, so tuesdays, thursdays and maybe saturdays/sundays. If i feel like I need sleep and I've got work in the morning then might not bother getting up to run in the morning, I'm at a healthy weight so I'm happy fitting it in another time. I don't miss many sessions but if I want to be somewhere else then I will without feeling too guilty.
Quite poor. Been boxing for years now and still havn't competed. This season I'm defo gonna push myself, but I have a bad injury in my wrist and elbow so my right is as weak as ****. Need to get that sorted
Im very commited. Boxing is what i want to do. I train 6 days a week. My diet lets me down. Im not fat at all. I eat all the right meals but in between meals i snack on chocolate and lollies sometimes. I have to cut it out. I run as much as i can with out feeling over trained. I also dont mind a drink on the weekend with my mates. Thats another thing i have to cut out. Although i am fit and in good shape i know i have to cut out drinking and snacking on chocolate and sweets to reach my full potential.
I don't think my commitment could ever be any bigger than it is right now. I don't drink alcohol. It's been 5 years since the last time I had some soda, candy, chips, etc. I'm constantly keeping a strict diet. I train 3-5 hours seven days a week. I even have a job so I can train more and travel with the boxing whenever I want. Boxing comes before everything for me. Friends, family, no matter what...
im pretty much like you Znaak boxing comes first although i do love my food but luckily i dont put on alotta weight as i keep training in the off season so for getting abck into shape for the season is real easy
