Leapai earned his shot by beating top contender. This is better scenario than Mayweather cherrypicking whomever he deems worthy.

There has been a long history of less than great challengers to the heavyweight title. Leapai, no offense to him, is part of that long tradition. However, he did what he was supposed to do to get his shot.

Yes, that would be okay, if the WBO would permit it.

People should be complaining about the fact the Boytsov fight was a final eliminator then, not saying that Leapai doesn't deserve a shot because he upset the set up.

It doesn't make WBO right for making that an eliminator, but you can't just turn round and change that now, he's earnt his shot because the WBO was bent enough to allow him to fight an eliminator set up for him to get beat in and he won.

I'm yet to see that there r few others who deserve it more.

truth is, the klits r so good, they make everybody else look terrible.

don't worry, leapai will win by round 1 ko and put an end to the klits :)

Klitschko should go old school and fight a challenger with a 3-3-0 record or 38 losses or 6-0-1 back when heavyweights were great!

dont see the problem leapai was ranked 8 in wbo beat the number 1 ranked,. klitsko see a easy mandatory, leapai gets the nod straight away cause he will fight for low money 400-600k so why the hate toward leapai., hes a guy just tryin to earn his money in his game and has the least push out of them all , if anything klitsko or the wbo is to blame. I personally dont see the problem leapai earned his shot and the cards fell in his favor , thats the breaks.

It was NOT an eliminator and I don't understand where people are getting this. It was simply a tune up fight for Boytsov, he blew it....and the WBO voted to make Leapai the mandatory challenger.

I don't really see anyone as really hating on Leapai, it's the WBO/Wlad that is so eager to instill Leapai as a mandatory that's drawing the hate.

There's also the argument, did Leapai really earn his shot? He beat someone that was ranked #1 yes, but Boytsov didn't really earn that ranking based on who's he's been fighting that last few years.

You are right though, the blame falls on the WBO here.

I think Boytsov probably peaked while he was fighting decent level journeymen and now he's on the decline. I never had high expectations of him. He just seemed too prone to health problems and hand problems.
