Inspired by this screenshot This content is protected From my understanding Foreman hated Ali with a passion following his loss, claimed at various points even he was poisoned by someone on Ali's team. Does anyone know when the change of heart happened?
The date says that this was in 1990 and by that time Foreman had already became born again, had let go of his disdain for Ali and they both became friends. What I'm more surprised is seeing Who Framed Roger Rabbit has Foreman's favorite movie. Who would have thought?
That just makes me wish that there was a version of WFRR with George Foreman’s commentary. "He should punch him in the chest, saps all of your opponents energy away..."
I don't know when he started calling him his idol. This article from 1984 describes them on friendly terms, but Foreman is pitying Ali more than idolising him, and they butt heads on the question of whose god is best. https://vault.si.com/vault/1984/10/08/after-fall
People evolve and mature and their perspectives change. They're not the same thing from birth to death.
Some people do, I find some athletes hold on to grudges for quite a while. Good for George for doing so. Not sure if Frazier and Ali ever resolved things before they passed?
