Very bad scoring as usual the fight was a robbery Kovalev clearly won it was not even close He had a knockdown as well at best ward won 3 rounds. Kovalev was the aggressor and was the one who landed the better shots. The rematch has to happen.
Sometimes in a big fight like this the judges tend to be on the level. I was worried about it before the fight, but after seeing it, and certainly hearing it was a unanimous decision, the doubt was gone. That was until the 3 scores were read... all by a single point.. then I really tensed up and feared what was coming next. We all know how hard it is to get a decision in someone else's backyard, and certainly in the US. Even Bradley's US citizenship overruled Pacquiao's star status, and I remember getting ridiculed here predicting that beforehand. Though I thought in this case they just didn't think they'd get away with it after the Pacquiao vs Bradley I outrage. I was wrong. They even had a hero story in place for the occasion, and the US press speaking out against it, turns out to be the minority. You won't get a fair shake as a foreigner in the US. Certainly not in Vegas... You have to win by KO and sometimes that even isn't enough (Maravilla).
A semi shot, rusty Ward won 7 rounds to 5, you can deal with it or cry about it. 8) 114-113 4 4 4 life, hehehehe
I predicted Ward by robbery in the predictions thread here, so it was no surprise to me. Most of the fans on this site are naive about how the real world works. Hopefully this fight will open their eyes a little.
