Good performance? Bad performance? Is he ready for Canelo, GGG or Jacobs? Or does he need a few more years?
He'd struggle to beat Eubank again in my opinion. Jacobs GGG would have slaughtered him. Thing is I think he knows it as you could see in his face after the fight. Eubanks rematch would be awesome but someone like Jacobs stops him middle to late rounds.
I thought he looked sharp considering how inactive he's been. Yeah I think he's ready. It was hard to look good against Monroe who has such a negative style. Saunders has so much natural ability and won't be out of his depth. It's now or never for Saunders
Not exactly good in my opinion. Monroe Jr blew a great chance to win a slice of the world crown with his waiting, waiting, waiting gameplan
Saunders was very good in my opinion. Wasn't going to be an eye catching fight especially with Monroe's negativity. BJS was defensively excellent, moved really well, his speed and timing were bang on and he had a decent work rate too. I'm baffled how people think Eubank can beat him, BJS is a level or 2 above him for skill. Eubank won't land consistently, a shot here or there and it's not like he has one punch KO power anyway. In BJS current physical condition it's a UD win.
I think Canelo has a bit more pop but skills wise, you'd struggle to put a sheet of paper between them. To wreck someone you need to be able to land a lot and both fighters are defensively brilliant. It would be a 12 rounder without a doubt.
It was a typical Saunders performance I thought. He looked sharp to start with but started to fade towards the end. Monroe was terrible. Both fighters were pretty inactive throughout the fight and it definitely wouldn't have catered to your casual boxing fan. He's got skills Billy but I don't seeing him beating GGG or Canelo. If he was to fight 1 of them I'd say he his best chance would be against Canelo, a very slim chance.
In context i think he looked alright, coming off a huge lay off and by the sounds of it most of his camp had been loosing weight rather than boxing. He was as good enough to win that fight, to go on he needs to go back into camp and continue working on his boxing. Needs a couple of fights before GGG OR CANELO I'd say
He looked OK after a long lay off against a negative opponent. I'd pick GGG and Canelo to stop Saunders mid rounds.
To me his enthusiasm and passion has gone, he is basically made the money he needs and his drive and determination have dropped
I was thinking exactly the same. Credit where it's due, I think he's done really well. Looks in the best shape he's ever been. Seems very hungry to improve and step up now.
I thought Billy Joe done well, looked classy and sharp. Dominic Ingle is a god send for him, BJS has all the skills in the book but lost the love for the game. and wasn't living the life. Ingle has got him in terrific shape and got that fire burning once again. Monroe was very negative... the styles were never going to gel and the fight never caught light. Monroe was constantly waiting and waiting... and waiting, so all things considered given the level of the opponent and the awkwardness he brought to the table along with BJS inactivity, it was a solid win.
