How did Butterbean even get a 10-round fight with Holmes?

He has promoted a sizable amount of circus shows through the years and has never been taken to task for it.

 

I don't think Holmes lost any dignity schooling Bean.

 

I would have said he lost it fighting him.

 

the performance against Butterbean looks that much better when you look at these current old man fights. I think the Holmes who fought Bean could probably take Jake Paul without issue. As well as the Tyson and Jones who fought each other.

 

Well that’s exactly my point though. You have a legendary Heavyweight champion fighting…Butterbean. In his 50’s. & it inspires talk of Holmes taking on someone like Jake Paul. That’s pretty undignified for a man who reigned about seven years at the top of the world. But in fairness to Holmes, very few boxers know when to hang them up.
