There's nothing basic about his offense. It's as advanced and as devastating as it gets. That was pretty much the Bivol gameplan. Bivol out volumed Canelo in 7 out of the 12 rounds. Punch for punch Canelo was landing the better shots but he couldn't keep up with Bivol's work rate or accuracy. The difference between Benavidez and Bivol is that Benavidez isn't as accurate of a puncher as Bivol, nor does he have as good defense. But on the flipside, Benavidez is more heavy handed than Bivol, particularly in the jab department. I highly doubt Benavidez is gonna beat Canelo like he beat Lemieux. I would imagine that Canelo would want to take the fight to Benavidez, trap him on the ropes, and punish him to the body. Canelo would benefit from being the aggressor against Benavidez, to get inside on him where Benavidez can't pepper him with volume from range.
