How did Cotto's Gameplan go south?

Cotto's connect percentage was higher but he had trouble at creating space.

Margarito is shitty ... and he has no skill son ... walking forward and swinging isn't throwing boxing ... its more complex than that ... if that were the case then Margarito would be considered the greatest "boxer" ever.

 

bro I said the same thing about Ponce De Leon and look what happened to him.

Valero is different ... he's very strong and can change the outcome of a fight with one punch ... so he's pretty much always in a fight just because of that.

 

........He did nothing wrong; any sensible gameplan would have had him boxing against Margo; he holds a big edge in skills, and you never fight the other guy's fight.

This was just an example of where a good gameplan simply wasn't enough. It was like trying to hold back the tide with a soup spoon.

 

The lack of a dedicated body attack ..He needed to work Margarito's body in order to slow him down ..I think he should of done more work downstairs but its hard not to throw upstairs when the target was right there .
