How did Crawford look absolutely shredded at 168?

He must have god tier genetics to be able to look shredded to the gills ;) at 38 years old. Jermell Charlo who is 6 foot tall, had a little gut and looked pudgy moving up to 168, yet the smaller Crawford looked like he packed on 20 pounds of muscle with not an ounce of fat. Interesting. Crawford is not even a broad thick guy, I would say he’s lankier than Jermell. Interesting.

Over 2 years of hard work and training to do so.

Charlo didn't do that. He just put on fat in a few months.

Crawford has been hunting Canelo for years. Just like he did with Spence.

154 was just a pit stop for Canelo. He's been putting on the muscle for years. Madrimov was a part of that.

Both Crawford and Spence were cutting muscle and all their water to make 147. Spence looks like an anemic zombie. Still didn't expect him to make 168 look so good but I guess off roids limited boxing ability menopause Canelo helps. Stick a prime 168 pounder in with Crawford who uses his jab and takes a punch to land one there would be issues.

He has been training his whole life and has a S&C team made up of probably the best coaches in the country. The only thing he needs is discipline, and I believe he has it—without discipline, he wouldn’t have achieved what he did. A lot of elite athletes are divas, and when things don’t go their way, they cry, complain, and eventually push away people who aren’t on their wavelength. But Bud probably has people around him that he trusts, so when they say, “Do this or that,” he just does it.

I'm not Bud's nuthugger, just trying to explain that it's not strange to do it if you are disciplined. Or if you take PEDs which probably is the thing you are asking, if he's on PEDs?

Difference in discipline. Charlo’s are drunks. Crawford is a consummate professional.

It's amazing to me how so many people who watch boxing don't understand it. jabbing at Crawford is the best way to get knocked out.

Crawford was 168 on fight night against Madrimov. He literally did not have to put on any weight to look shredded at 168.
But IMO he clearly put on some muscle and fat as well. Crawford looked softer(relatively speaking) than ever before, because he was finally fighting with a more reasonable body fat %.

Because weight divisions barely mean anything anymore. Crawford already weighed slightly over the 168 limit against Madrimov at 154.

Charlo wasn't getting in best shape to win the fight. I'm sure he put is some effort to get in good shape but I sure he didn't train for months and carefully plan out everything. Charlo has not exactly been known for his great work ethic in the last six or seven years.

Crawford, on the other hand, has been described on the site as a weight bully, ad nauseum. Bud probably loved not having to cut down to scarecrow. He was able to train down to his natural fighting weight. Crawford is always in great shape for fights and for this he did perhaps his best training ever.
