Has a bit of ringrust left but he looked good. Walked the opponent down and made the ref step in.

Boytsov will get better and better after his lay-off from his surgeries. He is extremely heavy handed, but skill as well. If his hands hold up he will goes places. He's already rated in all the boxing Org.'s ABC's!!!

He appears to have grown his hair out a bit.

Slower as usual... Didn't step on the gaspedal even once in the fight, stoppage a bit so so but his opponent didn't stand a chance.
maybe ringrust, maybe protecting his brittle right, maybe getting in rounds after the layoff.

He won, his hand held up so maybe we'll see him against a life body next time

  6. Boytsov looked like he was bored and looked like he wasnt hungry for a championship. He could have killed that fat bum Greer but he hit him with weak, slow shots 4 times a round and the ref only stopped the fight because the Greer guy wasnt throwing anything, not because Greer was hurt. Look at how Tyson foguht everyone before he was champion and David Tua when he was you or Foreman. Those guys came to kill anybody, Today's young fighters have like no hunger.

It's hard to gauge Boytsov when he's fighting one bum after another. I realize he's coming off another surgery but to be honest Boytsov has been treading water the last 2-3 years in terms of progress. He's still 'just' another hyped and untested prospect.

I hope they'll step up the quality of his opposition soon. Then we'll know what to think of Boytsov.

I wasn't able to see the fight, but from someone's play-by-play here, it sounds like Boytsov was trying to carry Greer for a while, so he could get in some much-needed practice. He attacked Greer's head for a few rounds, then later went to the body. He was probably just trying various moves against a real opponent, after the huge layoff. He possibly didn't want to throw combinations for fear of knocking out Greer to soon.

Look at it from the Boytsov camp's view: While an early & vicious KO would have got all of us talking, their aren't all that MANY "all of us." Very few normal people saw this fight. So, why go for the fast kill, when you can ge tin some practice & still get a KO on your record?

    Maybe.
I sure hope that was it.
    Time will tell.

Boystov is all hype, no substance. This guy couldn't even take out Vinny Maddalone. Even the light punching Adamek, had him out in 5 short rounds.

he looked like crap, slow working, maybe he wanted to get some work in, but, the guy stood there and took his power shots, disappointing

    This^^^^^:-(

As for him wanting to try various combo, shake of some rust, scrape off some cobwebs, etc, that's what sparring is for.

We all know there are several different types of sparring.... Offensive sparring, when your partner throws very few punches and almost always in a counter situation....... Defensive, when your partner is throwing, and your'e trying to make him miss, only throwing in a CP situation......and what Larry Hemran calls "all out" or "fight time" sparring. Both fighters going at it for 2 minutes with a 30 second break for 6-15 rounds.
That's the sparring I'm accustomed to, and last nights Boystov fight with Greer looked like the Offensive Sparring session. Greer threw about 10-12 punches/round and took 30 shots each session.

While Boystov is coming off a surgery, and we gotta keep that in mind, we also gotta remember that about 50% of fighters have broken their hands in every other fight their in, many during training camp, and still come to fight.

Denis looked like he has the skills, but not the size or power to trouble too many of the top 100 HWs right now. IDK....we'll see, but I can't see him beating Arreola, Helenius, Haye, or Adamek. MOF, if he were to fight Mitchell, Rodriguez, or Wach, I'd take those guys in a minute at this juncture.

  14. I was disappointed. He thought he would blast Greer out in 2 rounds. His stamina didnt look too good. Way too early for a title shot, he should stick to fighting Harrisons and Wellivers.

Off topic, but what the **** is this.....

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FEEaRrl-j0[/ame]

Two, Maybe 3 jabs in the opening minute. Greer was more active:rofl

    Can't really compare to this......:deal

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H73aSt0lfqc[/ame]

Iron chin....100 punches/round, unrelenting attack mode. Boystov might not like this fight, and Universum would NEVER let it happen.
