How did Dereck Chisora get the shot vs. V. Klitschko?

Chisora was 1-2 in his previous 3 fights going into the fight with V. Klitschko. The only win in those 3 fights was a 6 round decision vs. the 19-43-3 Remigijus Ziausys. The losses were to Tyson Fury L12 and Robert Helenius LSD12. Fury and Helenius both remain undefeated. Helenius has KO wins over L. Brewster KO8, Attila Levin KO2, S. Peter KO9, and S. Liakhovich KO9.

So, Chisora is now 1-3 in his last 4 fights and recently lost a lopsided decision to V. Klitschko. He hasn't beat a fighter with a winning record since beating Sam Sexton (KO9) in September of 2010. Tell me again why I am supposed to care about this guy?

Haye lost an equally unimpressive decision to W Klitschko. Haye does have a few decent wins at HW. If Haye and Chisora fight each other it may be a good fight but neither man belong in the same ring with either Klitschko. When I see either one of them get loud with a Klitschko I am beyond not impressed. It doesn't look ballsy... it just looks stupid.

He got the shot based on his performance against helenius (top ten contender) in what was clearly and blatantly a robbery.

At least Chris Arreola is fun to watch... for the most part. Haye and Chisora talk trash but failed to entertain when they got their shots... now everyone is ready to put them in the spotlight again and I don't get it. Arreola vs. Holyfield or Rahman might be interesting?

I think Haye vs. Chisora is a good match-up but I don't care to see the winner get another shot at a Klitschko.

I also wouldn't mind seeing Odlainer Solis vs. Bermane Stiverne fight. I think it would be a good fight and the winner would actually deserve a title shot. Hell, I wouldn't even mind seeing Michael Grant get a shot just as long as he beats somebody decent prior to getting the shot. Somebody like Fury or Helenius might be a good match-up?

I don't really care about the Povetkin vs. Huck fight. Povetkin should win, if he does he should grow some balls and fight one of the Klitschko's.

Mormeck certainly hasn't proved much at HW.

The Klitschko's might have to pay Chisora something as he was signed to face Wlad. Perhaps that is another reason why.

Frank W recently said Chisora received no compensation for Wlad pulling out

I heard K2 didn't even compensate Chisora for his 10 weeks of training camp costs, for the second time Wlad pulled out.

Yeah wlad picking chisora as a voluntary was bad enough. But binning after a full training camp is completely unprofessional.

Funny thing is, Mormeck will be a breeze, whereas Chisora would've at least gave Wlad some degree of trouble.

Probably because he agreed to fight the Klitschkos for crap money !

That's how a lot of guys end up getting title shots and fights with name fighters. They agree to take a very crappy short end of the purse, and they sign all the other clauses.

Klitschkos promote their own fights, and make millions upon millions from every fight, whoever they fight. For voluntary challengers if they can find a boxer who will fight on the cheap, the get to keep a huge pot of gold.

Chisora actually proved to be a decent challenger.

Is a $700,000 career-high purse really so bad for Chisora? :think

Obviously he has to pay a bull**** $50,000 fine to the WBC, & managerial, promotional & training expenses, but still, it's a nice amount of cash.

    Agreed. :good

No, it's a very decent amount of money.
But many rated fighters out there would probably turn it down if the opponent is Wladimir or Vitali Klitschko. Probably because they don't have the confidence, and because they figure Klitschkos could afford to part with more money from such a big pot they have.

Povetkin hasn't wanted any part of Klitschko and I would guess he's been offered more than that.

exactly.:goodthats the most either brother has been outside of their comfort zone for a long time. Never mind klit getting old it was the right game plan and I think it proved there is room for small higher energy heavyweights if they have the balls to get under the jab and put the heat on.
