A friend of mine was co-owner of the Main Street gym(after Howie Steinler was killed) His name is Johnny"The Flash" Ortiz.
Well Johnny said that during the Sparring session Stallone complained that Duran was hitting him too hard. To which Duran sneered Maricon(******) im barely tapping him.LOL

PS This was filmed at the Main Street Gym in Downton Los Angeles. They tore down this legendary Gym in the 80s and its now a parking lot.

They would have had to call this Rocky 1 1/2 because Duran wouldve ended the movie and series right there.

:goodplus he was a white southpaw with no boxing experience who didn't facially (no flat nose) resemble a boxer.
from rocky 1 through 38 i've seen better fight scenes on the simpsons:lol:

If you've actually boxed you'd know people dont usually kill or land real power blows on their opponent in sparring they pull their shots, but obviously in that scene they are excessively pulled

Dont under rate the than WWF in the damage department. Though the out come was pre plan, If you bleed, you got paid more money.

Like Hogans bouts with the Hitman Hart, or his fight with Slaughter.

And Hogan can snap a man in half about with a good well place bodyslam. But there TRAIN not to hurt there fellow WWF starts doing such moves, though mistakes happen.

For the most part it is acting, but some elements to it is real.

The fight scenes were indeed terrible. It was just like a see-saw street brawl whether it be Rocky/Apollo, Rocky/Lang, Rocky/Drago or whoever. And whoever was fighting, they all had chins that would put George Chuvalo to shame.

Well, to be fair, it kind of had to be like that for the drama. I get into it either way when they come on. I'll be sitting there thinking "This is so cheesy. ....But I'm still into it."

There's no way I would get into a ring with any versions of Savers, no matter how make-believe. One less careful punch and you're a vegetable for life, if you're lucky. Have to give Sly credit for just sharing a ring with monsters like that.

Thats the thing that stuck out the most for me watching this clip:lol:

Even now days where he is much bigger than he was back then they still had to put Tarver in has the heavyweight champ. Stallone is a small dude

"A few times, it got out of control," he said. "You're sparring and you say to yourself, 'Hey, maybe I can go with this guy.' Then you trade a few shots, and you realize you're an actor again."
