Who's criticizing anyone?? Stopping a #2 contender in 9 rounds is no small feat! More impressive than anything David Tua ever did in the ring, am I right? :yep

Why are you diminishing ****ell's superhuman feat by comparing him to Henry Cooper? Marciano had more bonebreaking/dislocating power in his pinky than Clay/Ali had in his whole body. Let's see Henry Cooper take a huge Marciano power punch flush on the chin and then survive for 6 more rounds!

Have you noticed though where the feet are when the punch lands in both clips?

It's no coincidence that Turpin is closer (and faster) allowing him to land on the blind side and punch right through the target.

It does not mean Turpin hits harder.

    Anticipation is everything.

Or that we don't often see chinny middleweights with glandular conditions get to #2 in the division let along make the heavyweight champ work so hard, and survive him landing his best Sunday shots for so long? Just a thought.

You're right. It took Rocky 9 whole rounds to destroy ****ell. That's it everyone, scratch Marciano off your top 10 lists.

Same reason Abe Simon lasted 13 with Louis, Gregorio Peralta went the distance with Foreman, Ali Hak did 10 with Shavers, Joe Thomas did 32 with Ketchel, etc etc etc etc, sometimes a guy just won't go away for a few rounds. Happens all the time, to almost every true puncher who has ever lived (And matched top contenders consistently).

When have you seen anybody get to a #2 Ring ranking without being an exceptional fighter?

James Toney was an obese former middleweight, so he could never have lasted nine rounds against the superheavyweight monsters of his era right?

It took George Foreman 4 rounds to KO Fred Agosto

It took 197lb Forest Ward (8-2) only 1 round.

Let's scratch Foremans name off our lists as well!

Yeah, basically, if you judge every great puncher by their worst punching performances, there are no great punchers. None.

Folks! Do you like Joe Louis?

Unfortunately, I have some tragic news about your idol. It took him a never ending 5 rounds to KO Red Burman. It took 1-1 Dave Salina only 1 round!

Your hero is a lie! :(

Mike Tyson actually said in 1988 that Don ****ell pressed Marciano and "that's the way to fight him." Besides every hard puncher had a fat boy that just wouldn't leave. Rocky had a tough time getting his timing down here.
