It's because your distorted twisted logic won't allow yourself to entertain the thought that ****ell is taking a hell of a punch in that clip.

There is no space in your mind to give him credit for it.

Nor is there space in your mind to give credit to Marciano for dealing those vicious blows on the head.

Hopefully I helped you solve this mystery you're struggling with.

C0ckell was taking punishment like a man possessed.
Marciano wasn't as sharp as he should have been, but all credit to C0ckell.

No...I'm still befuddled and bewildered. We know that ****ell isn't indestructible (see the vid of him being stopped by a middleweight) and that Marciano has enough power in each hand to stop a raging rhinoceros. Even musclebound 225-lb heavies and 240-lb superheavies don't have Marciano one-punch ko power. Yet ****ell takes a ton of Rocky's flush, hard punches and keeps doing his thing. I just don't understand how he keeps his legs.I just don't understand it.

Btw, that's a pretty rotten thing for you to say about me. I've already admitted multiple time on here that I'm not the sharpest tool on the shed. Logic isn't my strong suit.

Mental toughness. He's fighting for the heavyweight championship of the world, he's in the zone. He's putting every ounce of his will into it.

Also, Marciano wasn't quite as sharp or powerful as he was against some better opponents. He was mentally a little off, lacking as far as motivation.

Pretty much how I see it. Taking a punch is one thing, having he heart to keep going is another. This was ****rell's big moment. He didn't take the easy way out!

You could say Marciano should have stopped him a bit sooner.

The greatest compliment that you can pay a fighter is to criticise him for knocking out a ranked contender.

How many years did we have to wait, to see the lineal champion face off against the #2, before Wlad consolidated?

I've heard of mind over matter but willing one's self to not get knocked unconscious by devastating head shots is far beyond what I thought humanly possible!

All the posts and pages going back and forth and the one truly significant post in the thread gets ignored

There's no more to it than this. As stated almost every great puncher has "that" guy. Or even more than one.

Tyson took six rounds to fight stop a far less mobile ( and much fatter ) Brian Neilsen in 2001.
