The only fight I have a hard time explaining is the Bowe vs Golota fight. Bowe convincily beat and ko a prime Holyfield, which no one has been able to do. The excuses people give as to why golota beat the crap out of him don't stick. He wasn't past his prime...he just ko Holyfield one fight earlier before meeting Golota. He lost weight for the second fight but the result was still the same. How was Golota able to beat up a great fighter like Bowe? If it wasn't or the low blows he would have knocked him out, no doubt.

Golota was that damn good, but just wasn't right in the head.

It's pretty obvious the Bowe that Golota schooled was far from his form in the Holyfield fights. Both fighters were head cases whose performances depended on their frame of mind. Golota was at his best during their fights, Bowe at his worst. I have little doubt Bowe was the better of the two prime for prime.

The Golota of the Bowe fights had a damn good jab people forget that. Golota retired Bowe no doubt that second fight he was beating the crap out of Bowe.

Golota is a good fighter, the guy had some serious skills but never had the mentality to carry it. This is a guy who won a bronze medal in the Olympics surely he's not a scrub just never had the heart to go all the way.

He had both fights in the bag and clearly.

Because Bowe was out of shape and careless. Golota was jabbing his ass off in both fights from what I remember. It's just a shame that Golota is one of the biggest headcases to ever step in the ring. I have never seen a fighter so willing to **** away a sure victory because he wanted to play dirty.

To me, he will always be The Foul Pole.

It's more that Bowe was pretty bad in both fights, he had an ultra short prime and was already shot in 1996. Golota was never competitive with any A class fighter other than Bowe, and he only was competitive because, I'm repeating myself, Bowe was shot.

Bowe was on the fade for the Golata fights, probably from poor training and personal habits. Golata's head exploded when he realized that while he hit him with everything, Bowe wasn't going down. Those two fights ruined Bowe physically and Golata mentally.

golota goes in the 'could have been' categories. as good as he was he could have been so much more.

How can Bowe be shot when he was still very young and coming from the best victory of his career?

Bowe was washed up vs. golota. He made only party after the Holy-fight and was a shadow of himself. Golota is so ****in overrated.

Drink six month in a row, eat **** and **** whores, than you know how you can be shot within half a year. Nothing special....watch Buster Douglas vs. tyson and than vs. Holy.....two different boxers....same with Bowe...no discipline no gain....

agreed. if anyone lacked mental preparation it was golota. bowe always fought hard including the golota fights but his problem was with training.
