Hatton's win over Tzsyu was a wrestling match, not a boxing match. How he was allowed to get away with those tactics I don't know, but domestic level? He has good wins over the likes of Malignaggi, Urango, Castillo, Collazo, etc. However much you want to pick holes in these wins, you can't seriously say that he's just a domestic level fighter.

I think Brits especially give him too much of a hard time over the Mayweather loss. Why? Because he was knocked out? Should he have got more credit if he had just tried to survive untill the end? He went for broke and got knocked out, doesn't make him a bad fighter. He was outclassed against "joy" but so was Marquez, so was Mosley, so was Corrales, and Hatton had more success against Mayweather while going up in weight than any of them. You don't hear people say Mosley, Corrales or Marquez were exposed as hype-jobs, or that they were embarassed, but just because Hatton got knocked out he gets a lot more criticism for his performance.

Hatton-Zoo was "6 of 1, half a dozen of the other". Tough fight for a world title, go figure....;O)

Prime Hatton would beat all the current contenders to the 140 crown, IMO.

Newsflash Ashish: Most popular boxers fans arn't "die hard fans", thats what makes the boxers popular in the first place.

I agree with you except for the mauling part.

Kostya was a mauler when in close and he mauled and threw many opponents like rag dolls around the ring including Sharmba in their first fight and the he injured the mans leg and it was never the same again, this was a fair fight and the better man won as KT himself admitted

What a load of crap, i for one miss Hatton, he bought excitement to British Boxing, he lost to 2 ATGs and beat every other person he fought (just like Joe Frazier), there is no disgrace in this. 2 weight world champ, beat a variety of top names, what more can you ask for.
He would have wiped the floor with todays JWW. Bradley, Khan, Alexander etc.
I do wish he had comeback after the pac fight, but then again it may only tarnish his legacy if he lost to someone he would have beat while at his best.
Hatton vs Judah and Hatton vs Cotto at 140 were 2 fights that should have happened.

A more interesting question would be, who would you rank higher Hatton or Hamed?
