How did Lopez overcome Renown PFP champions Josh Taylor and Vasiliy Lomachenko while being the underdog in both case What are his secrets ?
Pretty simple.... Loma was injured, a healthy Loma shuts him out and Taylor was coming off of several injuries, 16 months off, a terrible performance, and he should've moved up two years ago.
No excuses for Taylor, he didn't make any for himself and I sure won't make any for him. All I know is what I saw and didn't see. I saw him lose but I didn't see the same Taylor that fought Prograis and Remirez.
Teo clearly has a lot of natural talent. When he boxes and keeps the fight long and lets opponents walk onto his counters he's a tough fighter to beat. But also recognise it's about styles. Both Loma and Taylor are most effective up close, Loma because he has T rex arms, Taylor because well he just sucks on the outside and in both fights he stuck to a game plan and kept the fight at his range.
Tlo is a great fighter.Dude beat loma and taylor ffs.I understimated Taylor the dude is tough and big for the weight. But yo TLO nearly had him but was showboat and his defense could be better at times.
Yeah Loma is definitely a far superior fighter and this is coming from someone who thinks Loma is a little overrated. Would be fascinating to see Loma vs Taylor the size difference would be huge and Taylor would fight Loma at his range in close. Imagine if little Loma beat Taylor at 140! Would be like when Pac beat Oscar or Margarito.
Yeah it maybe a bridge too far, but then we said the same when Pac fought Oscar, thought it was just a cash grab. Loma may also be too old at this stage, he might just get worn down against such a big man. I think that's half his problem of late he can't fight at a sustained pace for 3 mins of every round, has to pace himself early so he lost the early rounds to guys like Lopez than came on strong.
hes got speed, power, a solid jaw, and plenty of dog. timing is also very good, when hes on point. he has weaknesses, but you need the right fighter, with the right gameplan, to beat him when hes on his game.
Because Loma was injured and had awful tactics and Taylor has just never been that good + hes on the slide
Because Loma did nothing the first 6 rounds and managed to give away the 12th round. Traylor was outclassed tonight more than the judges' cards showed.
