Ibeabuchi holds an accomplishment that no other Heavyweight can claim and that was KOing Chris Byrd in his prime. When "ATG" Vitali Klitschko faced Byrd a year after the Ibeabuchi match, Vitali was punching the air with so much force that his shoulder came out of it's socket.

How did Monte Barrett drop David Tua when the President didn't even get close to doing it?

That was a completely washed up 40 year old version of Tua. The difference between these two situations is that Vitali fought Byrd a year after the Ibeabuchi fight and Barrett fought Tua 13 years after Tua fought Ibeabuchi.

The difference between those other two situations is simple, styles make fights.

Yeah but when you're an "All Time Great" the barometer is a little higher and you're expected to defeat your opponents regardless of style.

I do think that Byrd learned from his mistakes in the Ibeabuchi fight, and worked on his defence a bit more.

Vitali's torn shoulder in round three is a big reason why he did not stop Byrd, though he was well up on points.

How did Lennox Lewis EASILY beat Tua, and treated him like a sparring partner , and Ike had to go thru hell and high water, to get a decision over Tua, in a fight most thought was an even draw:huh.
    Guess styles make fights..

Vitali is nothing close to an ATG. Nor is his brother. Neither boxer EVER beat a top level boxer ONCE in their entire career. The only person that somewhat resembled a top level fighter was 38 year old past prime Lennox Lewis - and what a surprise, he smashed in the bum Vitali's face on one weeks notice

Ike gave non stop pressure, Vitali did not.

His shoulder did not come out of its socket by the way , he tore his rotator cuff. Buddy McGirt went the distance with Pernell Whitaker with the same injury.

The way Vitali punches it's a wonder his wife ever got pregnant.

    Thread..

Klitschko was hammering Byrd over the first few rounds, until that cuff injury began inhibiting him. With two healthy arms, he might very well have stopped Byrd, and even if he didn't, it would have been a one sided fight. After watching that match, the 9th round was the only one I gave to Byrd and that was when Klit was on the brink of quitting.
