all fighters fight with injury to some degree or another

phantom injury's are often perceived because the fighter cant advertise it and thus does his best to conceal it from his opponent,,,,, only to have some dude that believes they know everything to claim that his injury was a phantom injury,,,,

not saying I am totally right, I don't have a clue, maybe Vitali was seeing ghosts that told him Byrd would kill him dead in the next round and Vitali pissed himself and faked a shoulder injury for all I really know,,,,

regardless, if you were tired out as it was and suddenly lost the ability to raise your arm above its hanging position in a fight how are you going to raise your arm? If mayweather or others toughed it out there is a chance because they could raise their arm, when all power goes from your arm its not longer easy to conceal from your opponent,,,,,,, if your rotator cuff goes really bad, just getting punched or punching will be not just painful but it wouldn't work.

so I disagree with making assumptions I have no real clue about regarding fighting with injuries when you are guessing about the degree of what each of those injuries damaged a fighter by,,,,,,,

however, lets say your totally right ???

how much did his cowardice play into his career before and after this one fight ????

just like a broken bone, some broken legs, ankles and most all bones can have breaks whereby the individual was not aware it was broken, they were aware that it was painfully nagging and would not go away and felt really intense at times, however, overall some breaks are far worse than others, you snap something instead of just rip something the result during a completion be night and day

McGirt went into the fight injured, and it got progressively worse.I didnt suggest the severity of the injuries was identical ,I just pointed out that the reaction to the injuries was different.

I never suggested you implied McGirt quit.Neither did I imply all injuries are equal I just made a statement of fact ,that McGirt finished the fight .

well I apologize then, I thought you were implying that McGirt was tougher than Vitali because McGirt finished his fight with a similar shoulder injury.

Thanks for clarifying that was never the intention of your point.

Danny Williams suffered a shoulder dislocation , but struggled on and kod his opponent. Every fighter is different. McGirt went the distance with one good arm, in a fight he was losing. Vitali quit in a fight he was winning, only he knows how bad the pain was.
