How did Jamie Cox get into this tournament?

A better question is - why did bummer Bellew manage to avoid it being the warrior he is?

 

He had a tough fight with Lewis Taylor where he got hit to much but Bellew and the others had him winning easy like it was a masterclass

 

I once heard Barry Jones refer to his power as "Golovkin like" during one of his fights.

 

The same Barry Jones who thought Hughie Fury comfortably beat Parker. One of the worst commentators around.

 

He knocked out Badou Jack and got an invite on the back of it.

 

The very same and he is. He seems a nice enough guy but his commentary is not his strongest point.

Jokes aside you can ask the same about Skoglund and Brant, neither of which are big names and neither of which have even fought before at 168. With DeGale injured and Zurdo under some rock there was a lack of top names eyeing up the SMW tourney, so they had to look elsewhere.

 

Well fast Eddie agreed to take Cox on after Warren told him to do one...Eddie no doubt wasn't 100% sure but thought he would give it a crack...he then saw Coxs debut and thought ''fcuk sake what am I going to do with this bum'' then luckily, Kalle got on the blower talking about this tournament he was sorting...Eddie seizing his opportunity offered Kalle Cox's services..job done.

 

I wish they had put Matt Korobov in there instead.

 

Cox is going to get beat up. He’s a middleweight and Groves is levels above him. I’m baffled as to how he got in this tournament. How long the fight goes on on Saturday will be down to Cox’s durability and little else. I hope his corner (and ref) look after him.

Barry Jones.. in my opinion it's criminal this man is allowed near a mic. I used to dig out Jim Watt and Nick Halling but I'd rather listen to those two every time over Jones.

He seems like a really nice man but his ramblings are ridiculous in my opinion and that quote just proves my point a little more.

 

Forgot all about korobov good fighter should have really won that vacant title would still pick him to beat Saunders

 

He's in tournament to give Groves a better chance of winning it. 3 fights back to back in quick succession, sobinjyries thoygh a great risk are less so when you fight someone totally overmatched. Eddie offers Cox, Groves tells Suerlands he's easy to beat in sparring etc and he don't rate him, they make Groves number 1 seed, it all ties in, as Groves gets first pick.
