I think it is a bit too easy to say "whatever the other guy did Joe would always compensate".

Fact is that a fighter who has better stamina than anyone else will always look like his changing something when the opponent begins to fall behind. The opponent may be doing well, but then when he decides he cannot keep up, suddenly what didn;t work for the stamina-strong boxer begins to work and he grows confident and begins to shine. I tend to believe Calzaghe himself when he said it was Kessler breathing hard that won him the fight. However, given that Kessler is known for his brillinat stamina, it says a lot about Joe that he was able to outwork Kessler to the extent that Kessler had to pull the breaks half-way through.

i wasnt expecting anyone stupid enough to say yes,

how would you then explain, that post fight, kessler underwent surgery on his right hand..?

furthermore, you might want to do your homework, perhaps a little research, before stating the injury was only talked about, post fight.:yep

14 days without one sparring-round **** up Kesslers timing and otherwise great stamina..:good it's funny how no Calzaghe fans won't mention this key to Calzaghe's victory...

Calzaghe was super that night against an "all hart" Kessler...

Kessler threw his best at JC including the sickening uppercut. JC at times had to suck it in and go into the trenches and in doing so he brought out his A game. Respect to Kessler that night coz at times he gave JC kittens but JC showed how great he was.
If Kessler wins this 168 tourney then JC looks even more of a legend than he already is. (I still think Froch will pull it out of the bag in an epic war with Kessler) C'MON!!!

Kessler is actually ambidextrous, with menacing speed on power from both hands, capable of throwing every shot in the textbook perfectly.

Look, all I am saying is that Joe Calzaghe is not like Ricky Hatton. Like Floyd Mayweather Jr he has great ring intelligence and can adjust to his opponent so you can't predict or count on drawing up a gameplan pre-fight.

You have to think on your feet. Bernard Hopkins had a gameplan. Throw the right hand counter and grab....and he did it again....and again....and again. Calzaghe adjusted accordingly and threw shorter punches.

I am not saying Calzaghe is the best of all time of anything like that I'm saying that his greatest strength was not actually his stamina it was his ability to adjust.

Could it be....perhaps that he injured it during the fight? Could that be a possibility in any way?

I take any press releases by promoters or boxers with a pinch of salt as most of them are b*ll****, I'd say stupid would be believing everything you hear...a bit like YOU. Ha.

Haha ok fair enough you've got me on that one. To tell the truth my answer was loaded with annoyance at all the other press releases which to me, just seem like total bulls*it and I shouldn't have put a warrior like Kessler in with the rest of them:

Here's some press releases with what they probably actually meant next to them:

Mayweather Jr "I've injured my rib"
Proposed ACTUAL meaning: 'Marquez - Mayweather is not selling well and it looks like there won't be many PPVs and the PPVs need to be off the scale if I am to get more than a 50-50 split against Manny Pacquaio. Also I haven't boxed for a while and am not quite ready yet and need more time to train"

Cotto 'My nutritionist tells me I can't go below 145'
Proposed ACTUAL meaning: Cotto: 'My personal nutritionist who I pay and hired tells me I cannot go below 145. He is doing this as I hired him and that is what he is payed to do. Get the best weight for me and the weight I am strongest at. I could go to 143 quite easily but I need as much advantage as possible as I am nowhere near the level of fighter Pac is. I need to have that power and size advantage as that is the only way I will win'

De La Hoya 'Pac doesn't hit hard'
Proposed ACTUAL meaning: 'I'm ashamed that a boxer of my calibre got beat down by a small, humble asian dude and need to say whatever I can to try and hurt him as I couldn't do that in the ring'

David Haye: 'I've injured my back'
Proposed ACTUAL meaning: 'Setanta the company I am contracted to are about to go bust which could mean I am not payed for this fight. I have pretty much no chance whatsoever of winning apart from a punchers chance so I NEED to be payed handsomely for this fight. I haven't fought a true top level heavyweight yet and am also feeling slightly nervous and to cover this up I spout loads of sh*t constantly'

I could go on and on but you get the picture.

"The injury and sparring excuses are unconvincing."

I havent heard that many excuses, not even from his fans, and if Kessler uses this as an exuse to move on from his first defeat, i can understand it...

I dont see Kessler being petty. He talks wery highly of Calzaghe.
