If you're getting pounded, as Khan was at several points, can you just turn away from your opponent.....effectively declaring a break in the action? Khan did it more than once and got away with it. How simple THAT would make boxing....if you're about to get KO'd, just turn around...effectively saying "you can't hit me now, I'm turned the other way". Am I the only one who was surprised that Khan got away with this. If he'd remained facing Maidana on at least one of these occassions, the fight would likely have been over as Maidana was hammering him. How did he get away with this move!?? Surely you should be DQ'd if you just turn away from your opponent to avoid being hit?
He did in round 10 right after the ko, normall you get rabbit punched joe frazier style vs foreman and fly to the canvas. Luckily for khan Cortez jumped in to "seperate" them.
Floyd did it, and got a point taken off Hatton because of it. Khan got caught and went into survival mode, it happens.
On a side note, did anyone notice Mares doing this through the whole fight on Saturday? I was suprised the commentators didnt even seem to mention it.
stop over analysing **** fact is maidana had 12 rounds to knock out khan he didn't and lost i didn't really notice the turning and saying maidana would have knocked him out if he kept facing him is pointless and not based on much logic.

I don't like Khan. I think Judah can take him. And please don't put his name too close to Manny or FLoyd. But I think he got away the same way Maidana got away with hitting behind the head, holding and punching, headbutts, more than one elbow, etc....
I have no f**cking idea what you're talking about. Did Mayweahter turn his back on Hatton because he was being BADLY hurt to avoid further damage or a likely KO.? A boxer who happens to face the other direction for a moment just through the natural flow of the fight is not an issue (or, needless to say, a valid comparison). A fighter who turns away TO AVOID GETTING HIT should be disquallified on the spot. Otherwise, ANY fighter, when getting his ass kicked, only needs to turn his back, and get a nice little rest....and of course to save being KO'd.
Lennox Lewis did it against Shannon Briggs, as mentioned above, Floyd did it against Hatton, Joe Frazier did it against Foreman, its been happening for a long time. Maybe we need to change it to the marquis of London2k rules.
