against cotto , i didnt see it , i know mayweather won on points but if someone is nice enough to put up a summary that would be nice
Just as my prediction went apparently . Floyd went well early then Cotto had some success mid rounds then Lil Floyd closed the show later on to win on points .
Really good fight. Floyd stood his ground and often went toe to toe with Miguel. Landed the right hand around Miguels high guard and marked up the side of Miguel's head nicely. Floyd was really sittin on his punches a lot today. seemed to be carryin some nice power. Not the massive one hitter quitter type power but plenty to keep Miguel honest Miguel ate a nice uppercut in whateva round I forgot and seemed to shake Miguel up but out never really looked like he was goin to go down imo Miguel had his moments though and applied pressure the whole way through. Was successful in roughing Floyd up a touch and caused a rarely seen bloody nose and bit of swellin on the eyes of Money. All in all a good scrap!! Floyd also called out Manny Pacquiao during the post fight interview with Larry Merchant.
Was a good fight,although to me it looked as though Cotto never fazed Mayweather. The fight was controlled the full 12 by Mayweather,when he took his foot off the pedal,Cotto had his moments.Really good fight though
i really enjoyed this fight. I predicted Cotto to pull off the unbelievable & stood by this when they were ready to fight..................I did say to my mates though that the very best Floyd has to fight & beat Miguel..........and he did. All props a defensive genius who applies a savage offense along the way.............he beats pacquiou hands down........definately a p4pder when ATG's are being mentioned..........what a fighter!!!
Decent fight. Floyd always seemed in control imo although Cotto won some rds. Lets not forget Floyd fought Cotto at 154 not a BS catchweight like 145. Floyd is just a 140 lb size fighter anyway and just doesn't cut water weight like every other fighter. First time I had taken a close look at Alvarez and he looked quite good very very easily beating Mosely who is quite **** these days. Shane don't disgrace yourself further and give it up.
Pretty much my thoughts as well. Just on Mosley, that muther****er has a great beard.......... Not sure that Mosely needs to take that much punishment again now he is 40yrs old
What a display from Mayweather. He just had an answer for everything and from the bat totally shut Cotto down. Can't believe Cotto kept his cool so well, but maybe that's the problem. He let Floyd suck out all his fire. Didn't create enough options for himself because Floud wouldn't let him. I was pretty gobsmacked by how good Floyd looked and thought it was his bed display in a long time. To the point where for the first time in a long time I'm siding with him over Manny with a performance like that.
They way Floyd fought made it really entertaining and competitive. He stood his ground or lay on the ropes and let Cotto push in with the high guard and try and do some damage. I was expecting a bit more stick and move from Floyd. He fought at a lot slower pace than he normally does and just waited and picked his gaps. I really enjoyed this fight.
