Other than he was the favorite and the judges are corrupt? Total punches landed Castillo 203 to 157 for Mayweather. Power punches 173 to 66. Talk about a robbery.

He is lucky. That 0 at the end of his record has made him 100s of millions of dollars. His fights sell because he is undefeated and two other 2 reasons. Half want to see him lose and the other half are enamored with the 0 and TBE ****.

You're not alone. His fights sell so much chiefly because of people who don't understand boxing.

He won the first 3. Castillo dominated the last half of the fight.

Fights are scored on a round by round basis. You can land 90% of the punches in a fight but if you land zero punches in 11 of the 12 rounds, you will lose the fight wide... I've always felt Floyd won the first 5 rounds and then Castillo won 5 of the remaining 7.

Certain punches are more important or a better scoring blows than others and that is up to the eye of the beholder. Everyone can see the same thing and value it differently... Castillo lands almost exclusively to the body while Mayweather lands almost exclusively to the head.

Cause punch stats do not equal wins.

Boxer A may outland Boxer B by a 3 to 1 margin and still lose a fight decisively. Its based on ring generalship, controlling the fight, etc.

Umm if you never punch you don't win. It's not like I am the only one who thinks Castillo won.

Find me a decision fight where someone out landed their opponent 3-1 in total punches and lost. Guessing I'll be waiting awhile.:rofl:lol::nut

Some people don't know the official scoring criteria for pro boxing.

How we value and weigh the criteria is up to each person.

But the criteria itself is there. And most people don't know it despite being told what it is before every televised fight.

no Floyd swept the first 5 rounds. The 5th was debatable, but even then, Floyd still won some rounds in the second part of the fight. If that fight had different commentators, nobody would think it was controversial

I still have my scorecard too

    My score card
    rnd: Floyd-Castillo
    1: 10-9
    2: 10-9
    3: 10-9
    4: 10-9
5: 10-9(close round, it becomes obvious that Floyd's shoulder was hurting, but he landed most of the (legal) punches while Castillo cut the ring off well)
    6: 9-10
    7: 9-10
    8: 9-9
9: 10-10(I watched it twice and don't know who to give it to. Floyd showed good defense and landed cleaner, but Castillo showed aggression and cut the ring off good)
    10: 8-10
    11: 10-9
12: 10-9 (Interesting round, Castillo landed more shots, but yet again, half of them are below the belt. I would have given it to him based off ring genralship, but Floyd stole the round in the last minute)
    115-112 Mayweather

Well for one, Pacquiao knocked Marquez down.

Two they were within 15 punches total and power. That is much closer than the beating Mayweather took against Castillo.

Mayweather had 111 LESS power punches landed than Castillo. And they were both deducted 1 point in the fight.
