    Typical *****

'Wow Mayweather is such a ring general look at how he suckers the aggressive fighter into his best defense eveh!!!!'

    Honest observer:

'If it's such a good plan why is he getting hit so much more than the other guy.'

Just because you are executing your plan doesn't mean its a good plan or that your oponent isn't letting you execute it.

Wellington let Napoleon execute his plan to the letter. And kicked his ass. Generalship goes beyond just execution of your plan.

I think you lack reading comprehension. You've been told twice now by two different posters that fights are scored by round by round basis.

And you have been challenged to find examples of guys winning decisions when getting out landed 3-1.

You answered yourself in the post. Don't be harsh on yourself though.

Yes, Marquez got robbed in the third fight. I stopped scoring after round 8 because I thought Pacquiao needed a knockout to win. Marquez won more rounds in all of their fights. The reason that he lost the first two was the knockdowns. He stayed on his feet in the third match and clearly won.

Floyd gets hit more in a round, throws fewer punches, lands a lower percentage of his punches, throws the weaker punches, gets backed against the ropes and mauled.

    "Clear Floyd round."
"But he lost in every dimension of the fight."
"Ring generalship. It's all part of Floyd's plan to get beat up in the corner."

However it shouldn't be....the rules really shouldn't allow for a judge to favor a style. There should be criteria and it should be followed the same way with the same standards by all judges.

I don't agree with this. I thought it was close, but the judges saw Pacquiao win and the compubox supported their decision. Pacquiao out threw Marquez, out landed Marquez, and had either similar or better landing percentage. I thought Marquez didn't throw enough and Pacquiao was throwing enough to steal or win the rounds on points.

Actually my fault marquez out landed Pacquiao in total punches in the 2nd fight which the 3rd fight pac out landed marquez but still in the 3rd fight i thought marquez won the fight because he landed the more better counter shots which most of the time when pac comes in marquez counters effectively. The 2nd fight marquez actually did better then the 3rd fight. 1 knockdown marquez got still marquez got robbed in the 2nd fight. I remember the 3rd fight pac corner look sad which they didnt even look happy after the 12th round was over while marquez ppl were celabrating thinking marquez won the fight. <<Normally the fighters reactions can tell who looks like the winner and who looks like the loser.

Which brings up a good point...

You can't outpoint Pacquiao by using timely counters. Even if they're great counters, it won't matter because Pacquiao will throw and land enough to steal/win the round. You have to sit there and truly engage with him if you want to win the rounds.

Timely counters, though tactically pretty and showing great skill, won't be enough to award you rounds against a punching juggernaut like Pacquiao.

This is actually what Mike Tyson was referring to when he spoke why he thinks Mayweather will lose. Mayweather can't sit back and timely counter and pot shot, he has to throw a lot of punches or else he'll lose rounds by being outpointed.

Looking through my judging criteria. I can't seem to find anything that says a counter punch is worth more than any other landed power punch.

Most marquez fights when he wins, he mostly counter punch lol. That's marquez style is counter punching by throwing combinations while being the counter puncher having a fighter coming in to him. Marquez couldnt do that to Floyd cause floyd is a better counter puncher which we saw that when those 2 fought. Marquez was counter punching pacquiao in all those 3 fights which 2 of those fights marquez by counter punching out landed pac while the 3rd fight he didnt but still i thought he won. Lets put it like this marquez in those first 3 fights vs pacquiao he landed the effective better cleaner punches. How come ppl ignored pac and his corner look after the 12 round ended in the 3rd fight?

I already mentioned the damn fight:

    Landed / Thrown
    Lewis 348 / 613
    Holyfield 130 / 386

Punch connect differential percentage: 2.67 to 1

Though it was scored, technically a DRAW.

I decided to go back and rewatch the fight. Upon inspection, round 2 still goes to Castillo for landing the better shots, but round 3 is clearly a Mayweather round.
