Its well known around boxing circles that Ouma was impervious to punishment.

It's quite simple, really. Triple Duck just sucks and his power is vastly overrated.

How did Ouma take Golovkin's punches? Not very well.

10 rounds had him hospitalized and doctors thought he had bleeding on the brain afterward. His corner or the ref could've stopped it well before then considering the bout had been one-sided since about the 6th.

It's fights like that that fans overlook, but that stick with potential opponents. When you see guys who look like they might be able to stagger up at 8 or 9 and then think better of it, it's because they know in the back of their minds what happens when a fighter's too tough for their own good.

No he isn't, he lost 5 of his 7 fights before fighting Golovkin and was dropped by a guy I never heard of in the fight before GGG. He put in the best performance but the best opponent? no.

Stevens was coming down in weight, so that explains his resistance and he didn't win a round and was dropped. Rosado didn't win a round, ran and got fcked up so that needs no explanation either. Ouma not only didn't go down, he won rounds. Very different situation.

If you think the likes of Canelo, Cotto and Lara beat Golovkin then I have a bridge to sell you.

A little more focus than he had been showing. By the time Ouma fought Golovkin, he was more than shopworn. Being more than a bit familiar with Ouma's career. It wasn't uncommon for Ouma to walk through huge shots, showing little ill effect. He ate bombs from Jantuah, Rubio, Taylor etc. and kept coming. He had one hell of a chin. Golovkin is lucky that Ouma wasn't a couple years younger when they fought. No drugs or anything. Ouma is just able to take a huge amount of punishment.

Just looked at the fight, steroids didn't have anything with OUMA's chin--granite
He was one tough guy, but he took to much punishment and the fight should have been stopped two rounds earlier.
    Hope he's ok today

Combination of Ouma being made of stone and GGG not having the best night

wow the amount of excuses I see in this thread are unbelievable. Just say Ouma is tough and GGG was green and move on with it. STFU with this "He had the flu", "GGG's brother died" yada yada yada

Yeah. There is a ton of misinformation in this thread. Golovkin wasn't the same fighter and Ouma is a tough SOB is probably the core of it. I believe there was some issue of Golovkin and his team being stuck in the airport for two days just before the fight, so there were some issues with weight cutting/monitoring and sleep deprivation that supposedly sapped a little of his strength but who knows.

Going into that fight Ouma had lost 6 of his last 8 fight yet he was leading on the card against 30 year old prospect Gennady Golovkin. The same Uoma that was hurt and knocked down several times by Roman Karmazin six year prior.

A slick fighter will end Borat's hype.

WHO? Who is the slick fighter that will do this? Other than Ward and his excessive clinching, I don't see anyone else beating him right now.

    Excessive clinching?
Both of the dirrell brothers will beat. At a catch-weight of 168 I also see Bernard Hopkins schooling golovkin,
