if a boxer gets knocked down, but wins the round still, he loses the round 10-9!

Still can't find your response, but never mind. Doesn't seem like this is going anywhere.

I just want to know ONE thing.
Can the judges over rule a knockdown call from the ref?i dont believe they can. i've never heard of that. I may be wrong, but i have yet to see any proof that they can. if someone can find some sort of evidence this will all make a lot more sense.

People need to stop quoting Kevin Iole because he never said judges can over rule anything. What he said WORD FOR WORD IS

''the judge has it in his power to look at it and say even though this guy got ruled a knock down I believe the other guy won the round''

1.26 into this video http://sports.yahoo.com/video/player/box/YSports_Boxing/25159571#box/YSports_Boxing/25159571

Kevin Iole is clearly clearly referring to the fact that pacquiao WON the round despite being knocked down, hence he didnt lose it 10-8, he lost it 10-9.

Also if you guys are so sure Iole said the ref can over rule the ref, why did he say at the start of the interview ''the correct scoring is 10-9 Mosley''. Why did he not say ''the judges should have ignored the knock down and scored it 10-9 pacquiao''. Iole knows the knockdown was bogus, and he still scored it 10-9 mosley because you cant over rule the ref's decision!

bottom line is that a knockdown is worth 1 point. Regardless of what Iole says.

If a fighter wins a round and gets a knockdown, it's 10-8

If the round is a draw and he gets a knockdown, it's 10-9

If he loses the round and gets a knockdown, it's 10-10

That's just basic math. It's not complicated.

Indeed Iole knows KD was bogus hence he said a judge can invalidate a bad call.

Why would a judge invalidate a good call?

Phil, at a recent prizefighter, a 10-9 round was scored IN FAVOUR of the guy that was knocked down. there was that much of a scandal that the judge had to appear before the stewards and explain himself.

In this fight, the judge gave Pacquiao a 10-9 round in round 10. if that was allowed, why did the incident at prizefighter go to a tribunal?

More proof that if you are knocked down and win the round, its 10-9 to your opponent.

During cotto vs pacquiao, the judges explained why they scored round 3 10-9 to pacquiao despite knocking cotto down.

http://www.**************/boxingforum/index.php?action=printpage;topic=5293.0

from that article

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

thats from Duane Ford in his ABC certification classes. a direct explanation from judges themselves.

I actually gave Shane 2 or 3 rounds although one was by default cause of the bogus knockdown(i had it 10-9 Shane). Shane didnt win the rounds decisive but a 2 maybe 3 of them could have gone his way,as Pac wasnt doing too much either in those rounds.. I was suprised at my scorecard because Pac was dominating the fight i was watching, and the rounds he won were big. But no way was this a shut out.
