How Did pacquiao Perform So Well in the First Marquez Rematch?

Like i said, unrefined brawler, he jumped on you, so ofcourse he has a better chance of knocking you on your ass, but he also ate the most punches in that fight. If Mayweather got a little more aggressive he could have stopped Marquez, and Mosley.

After the fight is when fell more into his current boxer-puncher style

 

im not trying to hate... but is this the same fight in which pacquiao uppercuts himself ? (happened in the later rounds ... 10 i think)

 

Yet two fights -and several years later- walked face-first into a counter and needed smelling salts to be revived.

 

He was fighting pretty damn great in the 4th, honestly. Besides the KD in the 3rd, it seemed like pac was really getting to Marquez.

 

They were getting to each other.

That's what happens when two great fighters who have fought one another several times start to age.

 

Pac was simply hungry and in his prime with a lot of motivation. He was simply the better man that night even though it was still a close fight. These men always have close fights. You never know what will be the outcome.

 

IMO the fourth was a more complete performance in the rounds that he won. But in terms of the rematch, he put his punches together well, he feinted very well, moved well. One thing I noticed is that he didn't have a lot of the routine moves he later developed against Cotto and JMM 3/4 down pat. Slipping the jab to shoot a straight left and circling, etc. It's one of his best weapons for neutralizing a jab and restarting an offensive angle, hadn't quite gotten it yet.

 

Pac's performances was not that much different than 1 and 3.

 

Good spot. I noticed in the third he was counteracting JMM's changing of levels with more uppercuts, something JMM mentioned.

 

What is this talk of Pacquiao "adapting".... there's no possible way a one dimensional brawler can adapt. He has NO skills. none.

 

That's funny, he still lost the rematch in most peoples minds. But as usual with Pacmania and the rabbid Pac fiends, a knockdown counts for three rounds in the bank, and every punch Pac lands is worth 10 of the opponents.
