As somebody mentioned, Price should just retire on a win and call it a career. He’s just not built for professional heavyweight boxing.
to be honest, that is a totally uneducated remark. sure, his record sucks at 4-11....BUT ONLY IN NUMBERS!!!!!! this guy only lost 2 by stoppage in a Career that is made up of only prospects and contenders!! this pole is a genuine hardcase! i can bet you can find a ton of heavyweights around the world with records like 20-1 or something like that that are not half the fighter this pole is. so it s a good solid win imo.
Are you nuts? KS is the definition of a journeyman and he 100% should be taken out by a heavyweight who cleaned out British level years ago. Featherfisted Whyte stopped KS. Chubby checker Gorman dropped him three times and finished him in 5.
Gym fighter. Can perform in the gym behind closed doors, but doesn’t bring that form under the lights. Burns a lot of nervous energy, hence the burn out after a few rounds. Does make me laugh how people slag him though.. ‘embarrassing… not cut out for boxing etc’. Olympic medal aside, the man has won a British title, that’s a fantastic achievement. Also throw his CW title into the mix. Seems to be the fashionable thing to slag him off, but he’s an interesting watch. He has the power to chin any HW if he connects on the button, but has vulnerabilities to match.
CutThroatFade why are you like this ? What makes you hate price so much ? Is it because he knocked out femi ? I just don't get it.
I don't hate Price. I love watching him box, that's why I watched him on a shitty YouTube IFL stream on Saturday night. I am just pointing out his flaws. Some of the things he does in the ring and says out of the ring I find quite comical. That's all. I respect any boxer for getting in the ring, especially Price for doing it time and time again after being soundly KO'd.
The reason why Price is an embarrassment is because he talks so much **** and never backs it up nor has a chance of backing it up. The man is delusional. David Price today is an awful heavyweight boxer who will never ever go further than British level. It really is as simple as that.
I seen some improvements in Price but seen so many weaknesses that will stop him even reaching British title level unless he cuts them out. Improvements More footwork Quicker jab Fraction fitter Weaknesses Still nowhere near fit enough Goes back in straight lines too much (slightly less than normal mind) Doesn't always use jab at right times Still turning back when under pressure Looks gun shy Not throwing enough right handers
It'd be quite comical if David Price fought your boy Kash Ali, cause Price would knock him out in 1 round.
Price makes Helenius look like a beast with unlimited gas tank. They should make that fight happen. They also have history since Helenius beat his ass in amateurs.
Didn't see the fight but reports don't look great. Actually thought price looked improved under Caldwell...hammer was just a bit too soon. The warm up for it was basically two puddings. Not exactly ideal preparation. Actually think putting the weight on him was the right move...people say he slimed down for this one but again his tank gassed pretty much the same. He,s gonna end up leaving the sport in embarrassment if he keeps going down the same route. Needs to get serious. Either he,s happy to become a laughing stock by beating these guys that are useless in 6 rounders trying to get a decent payday fight off the back of it. Or he can forget about money for now...get fighting regularly. And very slowly build it up. Only way he,ll get his confidence back. Needs to forget about all these people that are trying to fix his flaws. Its too late for that. Get in there and knock guys out. Its worth taking the gamble of trying to knock the opponent out before the tank goes. Every minute pricey spends in a ring...is basically a minute too much. Needs explosive training. Needs to forget the critics that tell him what he can't do and concentrate on what he can do. Price could be that banana skin opponent if he makes the right changes. As it is he s a lot more likely to slip on the banana skin.
the main issue is that he doesn't appear serious. i thought when he went over to germany post tiger mauling that he might really start listening to people and change things. but he didnt. now he is back in his hometown comfort zone and looks as bad as he ever has. So, either, he doenst want to knuckle down and really listen to someone, take advice and apply some self introspection and try to rectify the glaringly obvious problems he as. or, he has tried and just cant overcome any of them. the result is the same.
Haven't seen the fight but he said he wanted the 6 rounds so if you believe him that is possibly a reason why he never got him out of there. I think he needs to get a couple of regular fights in then get into British level, then eventually get people like Allen and Chisora. His main problems are his jab, his gas tank and his mentality. I believe if he can start using his tools properly he'd get success which would change his confidence, which would help him be less nervous which could help his stamina. It's all a vicious circle with him especially when you consider he's been mismanaged and badly trained in the past. Let's not forget he's still achieved an awful lot. Regularity is the key word with him though and not step up too early. He's a gas engineer everyone, not a plumber.
