You think he lost to all three? And you’re a judge yikes.

The facts are at HW Young>>Eazzy C
    P4P Ezzard Charles>>>>>Young

Foreman and Lyle are better accomplishments then Walcott by a margin, and on fair cards he is on another level then Ezzard at HW and you know it.

Really sad considering 4 years ago Ali was the one of the world's biggest attractions if not the biggest.

I don't belive it was seen as anything significant at the time. People probably thought that this would happen every year, Ali would return and fight while shouting he was back for the title and shock the world again!!
You get the general drift. No one expected Kevin McBride to be Tyson last oppenent or jumbo for Frazier s.

What was Ali’s plan in fighting Berbick? He sure as hell weren’t gonna get another fight with Holmes so was he aiming to beat Berbick and get a shot at Weavers WBA title?

    Going by memory...

It didn't have near the buildup of the Ali-Holmes fight. But it still attracted mainstream media attention. So it was a semi-major fight, but definitely not a MAJOR EVENT like Ali-Holmes.

The fact that organizers were unable to find a site in the United States speaks volumes.

Muhammad Ali wasn't fooling anyone by this point, but he was still getting press, saying that he wanted to fight Mike Weaver after beating Berbick, then retire.

Not sure about the pre-fight odds.

That night (after Berbick beat Ali) one of the late-night news shows, maybe ABC's Nightline, dedicated most of the program to asking why fighters like recently comebacking Joe Frazier and Ali keep on fighting. George Foreman, who at that point had been retired for four and a half years, was a guest and was asked if he would ever attempt a comeback. George just sort of chuckled and replied with something like, "Me? Nah. I'm never coming back to boxing." He was as sincere as you could be about not ever coming back, at that time.

Ring Magazine took one of their periodic stands and refused to report on either the Frazier-Cummings or Ali-Berbick fights, save for a short editorial beforehand articulating that stand.

Basically he wanted to fight Weaver win the WBA strap and retire.
