How did this become the Premier Aussie Boxing forum on the net ?

Boxing is an international sport and it's not a huge surprise that one of the really popular sites is one that though is US based, recognises the sport internationally and caters for specific national regions...

Boxing here isn't big enough to warrant an entire forum I dont think. If your a fan in Australia you will find this site - even when just searching for fight news etc.

Count up how many regular posters there are in say a year... how many of them drop off after a while etc. There aren't that many really, especially those of us who have been here a long while...

Even this forum used to die in the ass when ever there wasn't a Mundine fight for a while... it's good to see people are carrying on even when he's not fighting now and there's actually a real interest in our upcoming talents. I really think this place has / is becoming a pretty good base for Aussie Boxing info and it may well be the start of boxing becoming more popular... who knows, in five years maybe there will be an Aussie site for it...

I know alot of my mates aren't into boxing quite like I am but i'm starting to get groups to fights and stuff and if you blokes are doing the same we're probably helping getting it recognised a little more...

 

i was one of the 30 or so members of esb who posted every day in ESB early days and joined because it was set up for european and world boxing and not just for the drivel of american teens that inhabited and worshipped roy jones underpants that was the norm in 2001 around boxing sites .

this was a nice change as was a board with a bunch of ecletic posters from around the world giving it a good mix.
we had isralie`s/russians/brits/americans/middle east/ etc etc and young uns who sucked on only one countrys fighters nuts were quickly run off the board .

you had AZ and lacerations main posters from australia so the australian board formed and has been healthy ever since.

AZ was a top poster here and i enjoyed his knowledge of australian and world boxing .

 

I remember AZ and co, i only browsed every now and then way back in those days.

In 2001 I was going to start my own Boxing site but things got in the way with this and that. I find this the best site by far now

 

No doubt it would have sucked balls had you gone through with it.

 

Yeah I would have probably called it something like f..ghtnews.com or something like that
