He was getting pissed because Mayweather was excessively using his elbows and forearms. You don't think that's dirty? He headbutted Mayweather, because Mayweather wouldn't let go of his arms. :deal THEN Mayweather SUCKER PUNCHED Ortiz. You don't think that's dirty too?

He lost the last 2 rounds big and was getting battered, the ref was about to stop it anyway or he was getting knocked out. Its clear as day if you re watch the fight. he wasn't out boxing Maidana at all especially in the last 3 rounds. It was mostly all maidana. Ortrees was only ahead so much because of a 10-7 round in round 2. It was 3-2 in rounds after 5.

Ortiz was shocked that maidana was still coming at him after the two KD's, he thought Maidana would stay down and as you say Ortrees is mentally weak so that effected him big time.

 

I'd say it was his high KO percentage, but like many KO artist who step up their level of competition they sometimes get exposed. In Ortiz's case he's displayed signs of someone who might be mentally fragile, but his style was exciting, so he was given passes.

 

Yeah, if you're the ref you would stop a competitive fight.
