bad thread. I'd be willing to bet 95% of the posters who have seen this fight saw it for the first time in the past 10 years. Not when it really happened.

He wasn't robbed, it was a close fight but Floyd squeezed it. 114-112.

I think at the time a lot of people just thought '' noway bs decision'' Castillo clearly won but it wasn't a robbery on a massive scale so it was swept away. Now in hindsight no-one could have known this was a precursor to Floyds career and gave him the platform for ducks and cherry picks. Had people known Floyd would become the disease to boxing he currently is and screw legitimate boxing fans over with these ridiculous fights he has then there would have been an outcry.

Had the correct decision happened back then, Floyd would have faced probably anyone and had a more legitimate career, we would have seen Pac and Floyd when it should have happened in 09/10 and boxing would be a great deal stronger because of it.

Gotta love that ESB logic. If Floyd loses more than 3 rounds, it's an automatic robbery.

    :zzz

Not sure calling it a robbery is 100% true:blood
Not even sure if I was upset at the time:huh
Would have been okay with a draw maybe:think and not at all upset over Floyd getting the W

Like another guy said, who knew the ground work that fight would lay down for the future of Floyd:deal:verysad

This seems to be ignored most of the time when this fight is discussed, and I understand that injuries are just part of boxing: but wasn't it perfectly obvious that part way through the fight Floyd suffered an arm/shoulder injury of some sort and was pretty much a cripple for the rest of the fight?

That was certainly my clear impression watching it. Even if he hadn't got the decision I just would've thought "well **** happens, he clearly injured himself" and never for a second would've thought that Castillo was better than Floyd or had his measure.

Floyd went into the fight with an injured shoulder. He was complaining about it in his corner right after the very 1st round. But of course many won't care because.............well..................it's Floyd. The hate is too great to admit that fact.
