Did you actually watch and analyse all his fights and develop your opinion?

Or was it influenced by the dumb ass fanboys here, with the continuous threads, continuous hype and relentless dickriding of Bute?

That was how I got onto this Hype even though I had been saying for months that Froch shouldn't be written off.

To all Bute Fanboys - **** OFF

    It was a mix.

I has seen his fights, and he did look very impressive. However, I was always sceptical (perhaps cynical) that he had been fighting soft touches and guys it was easy to look good against. But I think I bought into the hype generated by his fans a bit.

I think it shows the difficulty assessing a fighter who is feasting on sub par opposition.

Badly. I thought Bute would beat Ward.

This is the first time the people here swayed my opinion.

That goes to show, always go by your own judgement.

Never again, just like David Price, I still aint sold on him and sure he is another hype job.

Well I don't think that highly of Froch. Haven't seen the fight so I can't assess how or what happened yet. Very surprised Froch won by stoppage within 5 rounds. Never thought Bute had a pray against Ward so I guess I was somewhat influenced by the hype. Froch and Bute seem to be opposites. Froch fights rather ugly but is better than the aesthetics of his style. Bute apparently looked superb against sub-par opposition and looked awful at the top level. Many fighters are like that.

I watched all of his fights but never quite bought into him after the first Andrade fight. I felt that Froch would be too much for him but I never thought he would blow him out of the water like that.

    There's a few things here:

    1) Froch hasn't stopped anyone in a while
    2) he's a slow starter
    3) by his own admission he is a nervous fighter
    4) he got his arse handed to him in his last fight v Ward
    5) Bute is a big SMW
    6) Bute is undefeated
    7) Bute is a very effective body puncher
    8) Froch has struggled in the past in that department
    9) This was make a break for Froch (see point 3)
    10) Bute was untested at this level
    11) Froch has an iron chin

Taking everything into account, it was always going to be difficult to pick a winner. Carl could have easily frozen in there tonight with all the pressure.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and I'm not about to call Bute a bum. Definitely not. I don't think he has a glass chin either. I think Bute's legs are ****ed a SM. he'd probably be more effective at LHW.

I predicted a Froch win in the British forum, albeit by a TKO in 11.

In hindsight it's easy to look back and say that Bute's career had run in parallel to the top guns in the division during the Super Six and that he was untested, but in reality that is exactly what had happened. He wasn't seasoned enough to mix with someone of Froch's calibre and his frailties were all to apparent from the infamous amateur KO and the Andrade fight.

I liked his slick style of fighting too much, I immediately take a liking to reflex based fighters but I'm slowly learning that they really to have that elite timing, reflex and speed to pull it off, Bute didn't.
