How did you guys score Duran - Barkley?

BArkley was made for Duran. The style everything.. Slow fighter, but taller. he was under the punches and counterpunched..

 

If Barkley would have been the size of Duran and Duran the size of Barkley that fight would not have lasted two rounds.

 

i thought barkley won, just so, even after the knockdown.

 

Nobody was saying that before the fight though. Iran Barkley fresh off his KO of Tommy Hearns was looking to clean out the senior tour by getting rid of Duran. It was just supposed to be a name on his record. On top of that Barkley was out for revenge and wanted to punish Duran for the beating he had given his buddy Davey Moore. What Duran did at age 37 was nothing short of amazing.

 

most people knew Barkley got luck with Hearns. No one thought a guy who was a ESPN fighter was that good. He was always open to punches and very strong and threw without thought for defense. I don't think beating Barkley was amazing. I never did. No one ever beating Barkley was amazing. He was not that good for it to be amazing.

 

Did he get lucky again when he beat Hearns in the rematch? Iran Barkley was good enough to move up to `68 and win another Championship later on. Duran was a 37 year old former lightweight beating the reigning Middleweight Champion. If it wasn't amazing then show me all the other former lightweight champions who have won the Middleweight Championship.

he had a good style with Hearns. Without Hearns on his resume what would Barkley have? Sometimes styles make fights and some guys match up well with greats. Barkley was one of those.
