Since its still fresh. I had Fury up 5-2 but thought it could be 4-3 as well. 1 was a clear Usyk round 4/5/6 were Fury rounds 2/3/7 were close imo. I gave Usyk 3 and Fury 2-7 Usyk looked old and done needing to pull a rabbit out of the hat. 7 was close due tp the late punch Usyk threw whoch gave him hope but Fury still edged the round imo. After that it was mostly Usyk's fight, you could argue Fury won the 12th. But thats about it. So its interesting how people had it entering the 8. I have only seen it once sp far but think best case scenario Fury ends 6-6 in rounds but still loses due to the kd. It gave me this Pac vs Thurman type vibe where you can have it 115-112/ 114-113 or even 116-111 but thats about it. Giving Fury 7 rounds means you basically give him every close round. So how you have it going into the 8th?
Think I genuinely had Fury 6-1 up. Then everything from there to Usyk + the KD. I agree with everyone who said it was a fight of 2 halves, very much how I saw it.
I had it the same. Could have given rounds 2 or 7 to Usyk though. I did think Fury looked really bad during the first 1 1/2 rounds. Nobody mentions that Usyk hurt Fury in the 2nd round but now after the fight that was telling. No way anyone did think Usyk was going to win while watching the fight during rounds 5 and 6.
You can still find my post from yesterday where I hoped Fury would be stretchered out. They were close but It's just how I saw it going.
Thought th 2nd was the only clear round he won in the first half, he was walking forward but a lot of his work was smothered.....overreaching and not really landing.
Spot on! Usyk won 1-2 two clear IMO with solid straights to the body, ring generalship and a couple of sneaky and solid lefts over the top. Usyk started 3 in same fashion, but Fury started to find his distance in the middle of that round and started to come into it more. I gave Usyk the 3rd because he finished it well with a couple of clear shots, but it was close. 4,5 & 6 had Fury showing some of his best skills, digging in well to the body, disrupting Usyks rythym and getting more on the front foot and timing Usyk coming in. The 6th was easily Fury's best round of the fight, where he score some really meaty uppercuts, including one that visibly hurt Usyk and backed him up. That said, at the end of this round you could see Fury was blowing very hard and was having to fight at a very high pace for his success. Round 7 I had as a swing round, where Fury started well, but by the middle of the round, Usyk had made subtle adjustments on his movement and feints, stopping dipping to the right, and changing the rythym of the delivery of his backhand. Although I score the 7th for Fury, Usyk was looking much more comforatble and dangerous in that last minute and you could sense another change of momentum. So I had Fury up 4-3 going into the 8th, but he didn't win another round after that on my card
You might be surprised watching it back, Usyk couldn't miss with the straights to the body in the 1st 3 rounds, and that strategy paid dividends in the middle rounds when Fury's conditioning struggled to keep up and he made mistakes giving Usyk openings. Not sure how anyone could give Fury round 1 or 2 - round 3, maybe at a stretch as he did some better work in the 2nd half, but Usyk still scored the clearer shots.
I think 4-4 Usyk cranked it up a notch though and shifted all the momentum in his favour after 9 even though Fury did clear his head and stood his ground well
I had it 4-4 after 8 rounds. I gave Usyk rounds 9, 10, 11 and gave Fury round 12. 7-5 Usyk with 1 KD.
I had Usyk winning the first 3 rounds but then Fury winning the next for, so I had Fury up by 1 point, going into the 8th. I didn't see it as a fight of two half more a fight of 3 distinct stages. The first 3 rounds were close but overall Usyk having a bit more success but then Fury starts to up his work rate and takes control of the fight, utilising his uppercut to body and head and going into round 8 looks to be in control. But in round 8 Usyk steps it up a gear and at the same time Fury begins to fade having been forced to work at a higher pace than normal up to this point and having had his gas tank emptied by numerous body shots.
