I'd be interested to read that doctoral dissertation. I actually enjoy the in depth analysis. The Super Fight is one that continues divide opinions on the subjective scoring of a boxing match.

115-114 Leonard. Don't know that I've bothered to score it more than once, too many other fights to see.

I had it 114-114. I know I gave Leonard the first four and Hagler the fifth. I am not sure which two rounds I gave Leonard after that.

Over the years I've had it pretty consistent: 7 - 5 in rounds to Leonard.

I was a big fan of Hagler long before Leonard. I tried every possible chance to give Hagler a round and I felt guilty scoring it in his favour. Rewatching it honestly and Leonard won it to me and it was not a tough decision to make.

I thought Ray won comfortably and in multiple extra viewings it's never closer than 115-113 Leonard ad usually a bit wider.

I had Hagler winning comfortably the first view, then after rewatching began to see why Leonard won it.

After viewing several more times, I now have Hagler winning every time.

115 to 114 I thought Leonard edged it. Hagler wasn't being Hagler in this fight! He gave away the beginning fighting orthodox. Why he didn't get down to business like he always did is mind boggling. He didn't cut the ring off and he just didn't let his hands go enough. It's like he psyched himself out. Was really pulling for him to win this too.

I didnt score it first watch .. Looked and still does and always has been a coin flip fight for me .. when I score it its a draw
It's the biggest closest fight in Boxing history imo, at least that i have seen .. If it went to Hagler, thats fine ,, and the controversy would be the same as it is today ,, just flipped around ,, thats how close this fight was imo

Hagler by a hair 115-113, he gave up the first two rounds but the remaining rounds were either clearly his or could have gone either way.

I was rooting for Ray, primarily because he was the underdog.

When Ray fought Duran, I was rooting for Roberto.

Didn’t score it just took it in live. I thought Marv had a very good chance of stopping Ray - by the 5th or 6th round maybe.

I was stunned by Leonard’s recapture of himself but could see Hags was notably below par.

Even at the time I felt one had to be wary of not scoring Ray relative to his exceeding pre fight expectations of him - he still had to win the fight relative to Hagler.

Conversely, below par Hags shouldn’t have been scored negatively relative to what was expected of him. Again, only score him relative to Ray as per the action in the ring.

At the end I thought Ray won. Very close though and I wasn’t sure the decision would necessarily go his way. I’ve never scored it formally.

Fair to say it was one of the more difficult fights to score or no? Such division in opinions usually correlates with harder to score fights and personal leaning toward one fighter’s style over the other’s.
