Hopkins bodyshots slowed Pascal down even more than Pascals terrible Stamina did. Rounds 1 - 3: 30 - 25 Pascal Round 1 I thought Hopkins was winning, but then Pascal got the KD. Round 2 was close but Pascal got it. round 3 Pascal got beat most the round but then got a genuine KD. After that I just saw Pascal trying to steal rounds by doing last 30 sec work I had BHop winning every round after that making it 115 - 111 Hopkins. (or 114 - 112 on the night) I think it was a robbery based on the first knockdown being ruled a KD. I think Pascal's atheleticism will always give Hopkins trouble in the opening rounds, just like Jermain Taylor did. But Hopkins would eventually break Pascal down with bodyshots and win the late and middle rounds. The rematch aint going to be a walk in the park for Hopkins, it would be the same **** BHop would just need to try and avoid being knockdown off balance.
As I recall it to me when I was watching live(might not be 100% correct) Live Round 1 Pascal 10-8 Round 2 Pascal 10-9 Round 3 Pascal 10-8 Round 4 Hopkins 10-9 Round 5 Pascal 10-9 Round 6 Hopkins 10-9 Round 7 Hopkins 10-9 Round 8 Pascal 10-9 Round 9 Hopkins 10-9 Round 10 Hopkins 10-9 Round 11 Hopkins 10-9 Round 12 Pascal 10-9 Making Pascal a 2 point winner. Rewatched the fight and seemed to think Hopkins might have done it but cant remember which rounds I saw different. I think I might have seen one of the rounds to Hopkins making it a draw. Will have to rewatch to be more accurate to what I remember, but was curious to what others saw as so many have said Hopkins. Problem you have now, is not having any Vcash to gamble with. Dont worry I will put a bet on for you :tong
I watched it live with canadian commentators Troy Ross on Primetime, and they made it seem Pascal won easily. Then watched it with American commentators the showtime lot and then it looked alot more towards Hopkins. Some obvious bias from either broadcast. I just checked out round 8, Pascal landed a big left and taking a straight right Hopkins blew a kiss at him in response. Pascal was just looking for a single counter while Hopkins was trying to cut the ring off, at the same time Pascal tried to keep a distance while BHop tried to cut the ring off, when the fight did get in close corners Hopkins seemed to afflict the most damage. The main thing is I dont see it as a major major robbery, a 114 - 112, 114 - 114, 113 - 113, while I had it 114 - 112 aint too far off. A rematch is something which is required in these circumstances to clear up the mess and its good they got one. I would enough VCash soon anyway, aint a problem.
