I'd love to hear from the people who had it wider than 116-112 either way. :think

Thanks for the explanation as to the thinking in the corner as i dont speak any german either. However i feel that while i understand the tactics going in to the fight by the middle rounds an opportunity had presented itself to push forward and finish the fight. Now had abraham been in against a big dangerous puncher who was capable of turning the fight around with a single shot had he over committed himself or a top quality counter puncher who would have taken advantage of his change in approach then i would understand sticking with the plan. As you stated though he didnt respect stieglitz's power and rs was wilting due to the high work rate. Therefore i feel like he should have gunned for the ko. By failing to do so he allowed rs to gain a second wind and get back into the fight. It ended up being close enough and as this thread suggests the scoring was fairly open to interpretation, although i feel aa deserved the nod. I also have to question abrahams performance late on, in a fight which was so close, he seemed willing to dance around and neglect to throw punches in a manner that suggested he was way ahead. I believe his corners attitude overall was a little bit disappointing as to me it seemed to suggest that they didnt need to finish the fight or attempt to win the later rounds because they knew that they would get any tight decision due to the home town advantage. I say this as an aa fan, as my avatar attests so its not a matter of not wanting to credit him.

Not like he didn't deserve the win either but it's true.
