Honestly the correct score was 8 rounds too 4 for Stevenson. No matter how you scored it , it shouldn't be a draw and Stevenson being the champion in this fight won and he did so easily bc the first 6 rounds shouldn't be that difficult to score even if you gave Jack one round . It all comes down to actually watching the punches landed and who is the effective aggressor....... Jack got another draw and at least he should be happy with this one bc he didn't win this fight.
You got them all correct, except the last round, which was a pretty clear Jack round, making it a draw.
I had Jack by a round. Would have loved to have seen him get the nod. But he didn't. But can't claim he was robbed. It was a very close fight.
Draw. The "down side" of 12 round (even number round) fights. (SRL used the even #, 12 rd fight math technique to beat Hagler, when Hagler fooled around, and didn't understand what was happening to him on the scorecards).
Scorecards bah......that’s not how we score fights anymore?what we do nowadays is give credit to the guy who was competitive and never got knocked down, kinda like he should deserve the win.
What’s that about Ray Leonard?heard about the last thirty seconds thing which is what Golovkin was doing against canelo
That's why you want committees to be "odd" in number. It is about math. You could tell Jack's battle plan was flirting with numbers that were right at the edge, with little "wiggle room" for error.
Ah ok I with you, reminds me of the film 12 angry men about jury service. One of the few things I’ve called right this weekend re Jacks game plan, given how he did so well against DeGale late on he was clearly just trying to keep clear for five rounds before Adonis waned but still you have to do more than just survive as those are just free rounds in the bank for the pimp.
A judge is not allowed to take into account anything but how many rounds fighter A won versus fighter B and/or if any rounds were lopsided enough to warrants a 10-8. You can't factor the overall narrative of the fight. It is 12 mini-fights, each weighted equally, and added up in the end. And the problem is... Stevenson not only won the first 6 rounds, he controlled them. There was a reason Jack was not effective. Add rounds 10 and 11 and I think Stevenson more than did enough to retain the title.
Things like who was the aggressor ect May come into deciding who’s round it were but what you’re suggesting is a slippery slope but you see so many with this view nowadays,”let’s give the fight to Jacobs as he did so well to just going 12 rounds, same with Canelo,he did well to survive so he should get the nod irrespective of scores.
