i had barrera winnin by a point i would of accepted marquez winnin by a point though but not by the scores the judges had it at how did you all score it?
Every time I try I throw the paper down and say **** it....you cant score a fight like that. You just watch and enjoy.
8-4 JMM but that was long ago. And i thought the ruling of the JMM knockdown was correct, MAB hit him when he was down, clearly.
i had it scored AGES ago but i remember it was damn closer than the judges made it appear. course i'm an ******* and scored that round where barrera was penalized 10-9 for barrera...i gave him a 10-8 for the knockdown/domination and then the point deduction. to be honest, i remember thinking without that nonsense, it was either a draw or barrera shaded it
One thing I remember watching that fight, was how biased the HBO commentators were towards Barrera. Jim Lampley was going nuts when the referee penalized Barrera when the knockdown happened. The dick was completely ignoring the fact that Barrera hit JMM with a cheap when he was down. It was a good fight, with two technical masters showcasing the beauty of concise and accurate punching. Both would barely make a mistake. But I had JMM as the clear winner, no doubt about it
ye i noticed how badly they were sucking up to barrera aswell and i remember funnily after that fight them calling the judging a disgrace but then once barrera said he was gonna have one more fight and marquez was now in the spotlight for gbp and manny signed a 7 fight contract with gbp all of a sudden for the build up of barrera pac 2 they were calling his performance against marquez mediocre lol
While two wrongs don't make a right..it was a shitty call. Lampley has always been very very biased towards Barrera. He gets close to teary eyed talking about Barrera vs Hamed. I don't blame him.
I don't remember my exact score, but I had it wide for JMM. Those who had it close or Barrera as the winner were probably influened by the biased HBO commentary that night. Barrera was very competitive in that fight, but he simply wasn't doing enough to win rounds. There's a reason why the judges had it wide for Marquez and same with spectators who were ringside.
